Health is normal when all chemical components of the blood remain in correct proportions. A disturbance in the bal- ance between blood constituents result in disease. When the Zodiac sign of Virgo is af- flicted by the vibrations of the malefic planets, the entire world would suffer from ill-health; some epidemics or pes- tilence would break out taking a heavy toll of human, animal and plant life. In Astrological nomenclature, Virgo is referred to as a sign representing sickness among other things. There- fore, when the Virgo sign is afflicted, the mind of man also gets afflicted. Mind wields a great influence on the physical body. That is why they say that a sound mind means a sound body and vice versa. Virgo represents the part of the Ka- lapurusha (Zodiacal man) that includes the liver and intestines. I was emboldened to write this letter by your invitation to readers to send their queries. I am going through a very bad period and am mentally depressed due to a series of losses financial and otherwise I had to suffer in the recent past. I married against the wishes of my parents and my father has disinherited me. Grand plans I had made an- ticipating financial resources to come from parents, have now gone haywire. I have a permanent job, but I don’t feel like attending work these days. I wonder whether I would lose my job too. Please examine the copy of my horo- scope I am sending herewith and advise me as to when my bad time (apala kalaya) is go- ing to end. Answer: Venus, the lord of the 4th house of your horoscope is in the 8th House which indicates you would be deprived of your inheritance. However, Mars, the lord of 10th House is powerfully posited in the 11th House assur- ing you of a steady income from your employment. You have not run out of luck. Your future prospects are bright. From Ravindran in Tala- wakele Query: I am interested in Astrology and I make it a point to read articles on As- trology appearing in newspa- pers during my leisure. I un- derstand that there are many Balarishta yogas and several of them had been given in an article that appeared in the Nation Zodiac too. But it is rather difficult to remember all these Balarishtas. Can you please state an easy and simple way of identifying Balarishtas in a horoscope? Answer: First examine the Lagna. If the Lagna or the lord of the Lagna is afflicted, the native is subject to Balarishta. Secondly, study the positions where the Moon and Jupiter are placed. If they are debilitated, Balarishta is indicated. Thirdly, see whether there are malefics occupying the 6, 8th and 12th Houses. If malefics do occupy these Houses, there is Balar- ishta. Reply to Singhe from Kes- bewa We do not undertake palm or horoscope reading for a fee. However, if you send a clear im- print of your palm with a query, we will certainly answer it. According to Numerology, every- thing on earth – the planet we live in - is dual. A few examples are man and woman, day and night, hot and cold and good and evil. Renowned numerologist Johann Heiss says: “... Number 2 symbolises the very expression of existing as a human being on earth. Number 1 rep- resents humankind and 2 is the sen- sation of being human…. Number 2 is the conscience of the contrasts of life…” In the present context, we discuss Number 2 applicable to the Number 2 person. According to Indian numerologist and astrologer Pandit Ashnobutosh Ojha, the Number 2 represents anti- thesis and it signifies a mixture of positive and negative, profit and loss, and in the biological sphere male and female. On the positive side Number 2 signi- fies agreement and creation and on the negative side split and separation. Moon reflects the light of the Sun. So is the Number 2 person. Number 2 person is receptive to influence exert- ed by others, but only for guidance and improvement. Number 2 people are not copycats, they absorb what is good in pursuit of perfection. They achieve success thanks to outside help which they readily grasp. Number 2 people are gentle and doc- ile and artistic. They are also sensitive and emotional. They often allow heart to rule the head. When the Moon is strong in the horo- scope, the subject becomes charming and agreeable and he/she demon- strates a spirit of co-operation and of give and take. If the Moon is weak in the horoscope, the native becomes indecisive, wavering, vacillating and disagreeable. If born during the bright fortnight of the Moon or on a day close to the Full Moon day, on a Monday or the planetary hour of the Moon (Chandra Hora), the native would show the posi- tive traits of Number 2. Number 2 person and his attributes Numerology – Part 4 By Sudarshi The majority of people in this country still appear to be- lieve in the conventional mar- riage judging by the contents of numerous marriage propos- als advertised in the national weeklies these days. In most of these cases, it is the parents who seek a part- ner for their son or daughter and they invariably make it a point to mention their ethnic- ity, caste and religion indicat- ing preference for a bride or a bridegroom from the same community. New type of unconventional marriage However, there is a grow- ing trend among parents of eligible sons and daughters to allow leeway for their children to marry a partner of their choice. Very often, nowadays, young men and women fall in love and later seek parental consent to tie the knot. While, the inter-caste and inter-ra- cial marriages are now on the increase, yet another type of unconventional marriage has entered the equation; either a love relationship or marriage with a foreigner. Local-foreigner marriages The local-foreigner marriages have begun to increase of late with more and more foreign- ers visiting the country as tourists, investors, and resource personnel on foreign-funded proj- ects. Another factor contributing to the increasing this type of unconventional marriage is more and more Lankans se- curing employment in Mid-east, and developed countries like Italy, USA, Germany and Australia. Our present purpose is discussing the Astrological fac- tors that lead to a local embarking on matrimony with a foreigner throwing all conventions to the four winds. Rahu represents everything foreign Vedic Astrologers credit Rahu, the shadow planet with causing unconventional mar- riages, those with foreigners in particular. Rahu, in fact, is be- lieved to be playing an impor- tant role in connecting a native with everything foreign. Rahu also plays a major role in tim- ing unconventional marriages. For instance, a marriage with a foreigner would take place either in the major Dasa peri- od of Rahu or in his sub Dasa period in the major Dasa of the lord of the 7th House. Astrological factors Given below are a few plan- etary positions that lead to mar- riage with a foreigner: The lord of 7th House is in the 12th House or vice versa points to a marriage with a foreigner and taking residence abroad. The lord of the 12th House posited in the 4th House while being aspected by Venus or the lord of the 7th House signifies marriage with a foreigner and living abroad. The lord of the 12th House in the 7th House with the lord of the 4th House indicates marrying a foreigner. Rahu occupying either 12th House or the 6th House from the Lagna in the Rashi, Sapthamsa and Namamsa charts would cause the native to marry a foreigner. The 12th lord either from the Moon or the Lagna placed in the asterism of Rahu would lead to marrying a foreigner. Venus, either posited with or aspected by Rahu in the 2nd or 12th position to each other in the Navamsa chart indicates marriage with a foreigner. By A. S.Fernando Moon is the only satel- lite orbiting around the Earth. However, the Moon, in astrological nomencla- ture is described as the ‘planet’ (Graha) closest to the Earth. Being the celestial body closest to the Earth, the Moon, of all planets wields the greatest influence on man and his environment. The pad formed on the left of the Life Line of the right palm and below the upper Mount of Mars along the percussion extending up to the bracelets at the wrist is called the Mount of Luna or Moon. Persons with a developed Mount of Moon are deli- cate, sensitive and roman- tic. They are lovers of na- ture and beauty. Those with an exces- sively developed Mount of Moon live in a dream world or a world of imagination. They are not practical- minded and find it difficult to face vicissitudes in life as they are not down to earth in their attitude to- wards the realities. Those with a developed Mount of Moon are called Lunarians or Luna sub- jects. Persons not having a prominent Mount of moon are considered hard-heart- ed, cruel and materialistic. Those who are very belli- cose and aggressive lack a developed Mount of Moon. The Lunarians are kind- hearted people who prefer to lead a peaceful life in harmony with others. They often happen to be artists, musicians and men of let- ters. They do not like to be subservient or submissive. They are very independent in thinking and action. A prominent of Mount of Moon leaning outwards indicates that the owner is obsessed with love of plea- sures in life. He would be promiscuous and would go after beautiful women which would be the cause of his ruin. Vertical lines on the Mount of Moon add to its strength while the horizon- tal lines indicate defects. A person would go abroad several times; if there are zigzag lines on the Mount. If there is a circle on the Mount, the owner would go abroad for political rea- sons. A person with a conch shell sign on the Mount of Moon would achieve great success in life with his own effort. The more the Mount is lined, the more the subject becomes restless. The Mount of Moon can be divided into three parts as the Upper, the Middle and the Lower for the pur- pose of determining the health problems of the owner. Markings like dots, is- lands, cross-bars and simi- lar signs on the upper part of the Mount show that the owner is subject to in- testinal disorders. Mark- ings like crosses, grilles, and ill-formed stars on the middle of the Mount sig- nify gout or rheumatism meanwhile, kidney trou- ble is indicated by cross bars on the lower part of the Mount. Lunarian can- not stand hard work or prolonged exertion. He is in danger of drown- ing and of suffering from kidney, bladder and womb troubles. Lunarians with pointed fingers live in such a world of imagination some of them get close to inanity. Lunarians with conical fingers are gifted artists. Those with square fingers are lovers of poetry and those with spatulate fin- gertips are great lovers of beauty.

I married against the wishes of my parents and my father has disinherited me. Grand plans I had made an-ticipating fi nancial resources to come from parents, have now gone haywire. I have a permanent job, but I don’t feel like attending work these days. I wonder whether I would lose my job too. Please examine the copy of my horo-scope I am sending herewith and advise me as to when my bad time (apala kalaya) is go-ing to end.

Answer: Venus, the lord of the 4th house of your horoscope is in the 8th House which indicates you would be deprived of your inheritance. However, Mars, the lord of 10th House is powerfully posited in the 11th House assur-ing you of a steady income from your employment. You have not run out of luck. Your future

prospects are bright. From Ravindran in Tala-

wakeleQuery: I am interested in

Astrology and I make it a point to read articles on As-trology appearing in newspa-pers during my leisure. I un-derstand that there are many Balarishta yogas and several of them had been given in an article that appeared in the Nation Zodiac too. But it is rather diffi cult to remember all these Balarishtas. Can you please state an easy and simple way of identifying Balarishtas in a horoscope?

Answer: First examine the Lagna. If the Lagna or the lord of the Lagna is affl icted, the native is subject to Balarishta. Secondly, study the positions where the Moon and Jupiter are placed. If they are debilitated, Balarishta is indicated. Thirdly, see whether there are malefi cs occupying the 6, 8th and 12th Houses. If malefi cs do occupy these Houses, there is Balar-ishta.

The Number 2 represents duality, di-vision, opposition and it is considered complementary to Number 1.

According to Numerology, every-thing on earth – the planet we live in - is dual. A few examples are man and woman, day and night, hot and cold and good and evil.

Renowned numerologist Johann Heiss says: “... Number 2 symbolises the very expression of existing as a human being on earth. Number 1 rep-resents humankind and 2 is the sen-sation of being human…. Number 2 is the conscience of the contrasts of life…”

In the present context, we discuss Number 2 applicable to the Number 2 person.

According to Indian numerologist and astrologer Pandit Ashnobutosh Ojha, the Number 2 represents anti-thesis and it signifi es a mixture of positive and negative, profi t and loss, and in the biological sphere male and female.

On the positive side Number 2 signi-fi es agreement and creation and on the

negative side split and separation.Moon refl ects the light of the Sun.

So is the Number 2 person. Number 2 person is receptive to infl uence exert-ed by others, but only for guidance and improvement. Number 2 people are not copycats, they absorb what is good in pursuit of perfection. They achieve success thanks to outside help which they readily grasp.

Number 2 people are gentle and doc-ile and artistic. They are also sensitive and emotional. They often allow heart to rule the head.

When the Moon is strong in the horo-scope, the subject becomes charming and agreeable and he/she demon-strates a spirit of co-operation and of give and take. If the Moon is weak in the horoscope, the native becomes indecisive, wavering, vacillating and disagreeable.

If born during the bright fortnight of the Moon or on a day close to the Full Moon day, on a Monday or the planetary hour of the Moon (Chandra Hora), the native would show the posi-tive traits of Number 2.

The majority of people in this country still appear to be-lieve in the conventional mar-riage judging by the contents of numerous marriage propos-als advertised in the national weeklies these days.

In most of these cases, it is the parents who seek a part-ner for their son or daughter and they invariably make it a point to mention their ethnic-ity, caste and religion indicat-ing preference for a bride or a bridegroom from the same community.

New type of unconventional marriage

However, there is a grow-ing trend among parents of eligible sons and daughters to allow leeway for their children to marry a partner of their choice. Very often, nowadays, young men and women fall in love and later seek parental consent to tie the knot. While, the inter-caste and inter-ra-cial marriages are now on the increase, yet another type of unconventional marriage has entered the equation; either a love relationship or marriage with a foreigner.

Local-foreigner marriages

The local-foreigner marriages have begun to increase of late with more and more foreign-ers visiting the country as tourists, investors, and resource personnel on foreign-funded proj-ects. Another factor contributing to the increasing this type of unconventional marriage is more and more Lankans se-curing employment in Mid-east, and developed countries like Italy, USA, Germany and Australia.

Our present purpose is discussing the Astrological fac-tors that lead to a local embarking on matrimony with a foreigner throwing all conventions to the four winds.

Rahu represents everything foreign

Vedic Astrologers credit Rahu, the shadow planet with causing unconventional mar-riages, those with foreigners in particular. Rahu, in fact, is be-lieved to be playing an impor-tant role in connecting a native with everything foreign. Rahu also plays a major role in tim-ing unconventional marriages. For instance, a marriage with a foreigner would take place either in the major Dasa peri-od of Rahu or in his sub Dasa period in the major Dasa of the lord of the 7th House.

Astrological factorsGiven below are a few plan-

etary positions that lead to mar-riage with a foreigner:

The lord of 7th House is in the 12th House or vice versa points to a marriage with a foreigner and taking residence abroad.

Moon is the only satel-lite orbiting around the Earth. However, the Moon, in astrological nomencla-ture is described as the ‘planet’ (Graha) closest to the Earth.

Being the celestial body closest to the Earth, the Moon, of all planets wields the greatest infl uence on man and his environment.

The pad formed on the left of the Life Line of the right palm and below the upper Mount of Mars along the percussion extending up to the bracelets at the wrist is called the Mount of Luna or Moon.

Persons with a developed Mount of Moon are deli-cate, sensitive and roman-tic. They are lovers of na-ture and beauty.

Those with an exces-sively developed Mount of Moon live in a dream world or a world of imagination. They are not practical-minded and fi nd it diffi cult to face vicissitudes in life as they are not down to earth in their attitude to-wards the realities.

Those with a developed Mount of Moon are called Lunarians or Luna sub-jects.

Persons not having a prominent Mount of moon are considered hard-heart-ed, cruel and materialistic. Those who are very belli-cose and aggressive lack a developed Mount of Moon.

The Lunarians are kind-hearted people who prefer to lead a peaceful life in harmony with others. They often happen to be artists, musicians and men of let-ters. They do not like to be subservient or submissive. They are very independent in thinking and action.

A prominent of Mount of Moon leaning outwards indicates that the owner is obsessed with love of plea-sures in life. He would be promiscuous and would

go after beautiful women which would be the cause of his ruin.

Vertical lines on the Mount of Moon add to its strength while the horizon-tal lines indicate defects.

A person would go abroad several times; if there are zigzag lines on the Mount. If there is a circle on the Mount, the owner would go abroad for political rea-sons.

A person with a conch shell sign on the Mount of Moon would achieve great success in life with his own effort.

The more the Mount is lined, the more the subject becomes restless.

The Mount of Moon can be divided into three parts as the Upper, the Middle and the Lower for the pur-pose of determining the health problems of the owner.

Markings like dots, is-lands, cross-bars and simi-lar signs on the upper part of the Mount show that the owner is subject to in-testinal disorders. Mark-ings like crosses, grilles, and ill-formed stars on the middle of the Mount sig-nify gout or rheumatism meanwhile, kidney trou-ble is indicated by cross bars on the lower part of the Mount. Lunarian can-not stand hard work or prolonged exertion. He is in danger of drown-ing and of suffering from kidney, bladder and womb troubles.

Lunarians with pointed fingers live in such a world of imagination some of them get close to inanity.

Lunarians with conical fingers are gifted artists. Those with square fingers are lovers of poetry and those with spatulate fin-gertips are great lovers of beauty.
