COURSEINSTRUCTORSMrKevinEdwardsgraduatedfromtheUniversityofWesternAustraliain1991,andiscurrentlyadoctoralcandidateintheMaritimeArchaeologyProgrammeatFlindersUniversity.Hisresearchinterestsincludethearchaeologicalpotentialofnearandoffshoredisposalsofmilitarymaterialinwartimeandpost-bellumcontexts,theapplicationofsocialtheorytoshipwrecksurvivorcampstudies,andthedocumentationofarchaeologicalcollectionsusingavarietyof3Ddigitizationtechniques.Healsofocusesontheuseofclose-rangemulti-imagephotogrammetryasameansofrapidlydocumentingandmonitoringunderwaterarchaeologicalsites.Heplanstoexpandhisstudyintereststoincludethesocialandmaterialagenciesinvolvedinthecreationof19thcenturymuseumcollectionsrelatingtomaritimearchaeology.Inrecognitionofhiswork,inDecember2015,hewasrecognisedasanHonoraryAssociateoftheWesternAustralianMuseum.

DrKotaroYamafunereceivedhisBachelorofArtsdegreeinhistoryfromHoseiUniversityinTokyoin2006.HeenteredtheNauticalArchaeologyProgrammeintheAnthropologyDepartmentatTexasA&MUniversityinSeptember2009andreceivedhisMastersinAugust2012,andhisdoctoratein2015.HisresearchinterestsincludeshipbuildinginMedievalEuropeandtheEuropeanAgeofDiscovery,aswellasshipreconstructionbothmanuallyandthroughtheuseofdigitaltoolssuchas3Dmodelingsoftware.Healsofocusesonphotogrammetricrecordingofsubmergedculturalheritage,includingshipwrecksites.Heplanstoexpandhisstudyinteresttomuseologyfornauticalandmaritimearchaeology.
