Dorothy Newton Comer Boone Filiatreau, 97, of Hodgenville, for- merly of Bardstown and Howardstown, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide after many years. She was born Jan. 29, 1915, in Holy Cross, the daughter of the late William Arthur and Mary Joseph “Josie” Hagan Newton. She is preceded in death by her three hus- bands, Carl B. Comer, Leo Boone and Thomas P. Filiatreau; one step- son, Ricky Boone; three granddaughters, Theresa Smith, Angie S. Gibson, Denise C. Simpson; and three sis- ters, Thelma N. Hayden, Vivian N. Nelson and Ruth N. Lyon. She is survived by one son, Don (Mary Ann) Comer of Bardstown; two daughters, Rita C. Smith of Hodgenville and Ginger C. Luzon of Louisville; one foster daughter, Martha Bianco of Ill.; eight step- sons, Jerry (Jean) Boone and Bob (Cecilie) Boone both of Howardstown, Joe Newman Boone, Johnny (Elaine) Filiatreau, Joe (Sharon) Filiatreau, Pat (Vicky) Filiatreau, all of Bardstown, Paul (Vicky) Filiatreau of Stanton and Bill (Beth) Filiatreau of Louisville; nine stepdaughters, Doris (Ray) O’Daniel, June Riley and Patsy Boone, all of Louisville, Sr. Eva Boone SCN of Maple Mount, Ky., Theresa (Sherrill) Jones of Holy Cross, Margaret (Phil) Mattingly and Edna Boone, both of Bardstown, Frankie (Rick) Robinson of New Hamshire and Ann (Scott) Hornblower of Florence; 14 grandchil- dren, 24 great grand- children, five great great grandchildren and numerous step grand- children, great grand- children and great great grandchildren; and sev- eral nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian burial services were March 24 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hodgenville with Rev. Jim Mudd and Rev. Pablo Hernandez, pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, offici- ating. Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery. She was a member of Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Gleanings. She was retired from Nelson County Board of Education as a bus driv- er for 30 years. She was born May 10, 1948, in Marion County, the daughter of the late Benjamin Robert and Geraldine Price Harris. In addition to her par- ents, she is also preced- ed in death by her step- father, Matthew Dobson; two brothers, Larry Harris and Robert Ernest Harris; and twin sisters, Flora Harris and Dora Harris. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Reed of Hodgenville; one son, Glenn Reed of New Haven; one daughter, Charlotte (Lloyd) Devers of Hodgenville; three brothers, Robert Lewis Harris and Robert Joseph Harris, both of New Haven, and Ricky Lynn Harris of Hodgenville; two sisters, Claudine (Billie) Bell of Raywick and Barbara Ann (Ricky) Newton of Bardstown; six grand- children; one great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
