    Main Parts of Interrupter

    A : Nozzle & Arcing Contact

    Arc Quenching is carried out under highly-pressured SF6 gas compressed by Puffer System.

    The excellent endurance anti-arc performance and simple structure of interrupter enable it to interrupt the rated peak

    currents more than 20 times.

    The interrupter of the HICO Gas Circuit Breaker has high

    reliability for all interrupting duties and satisfies the latest

    standards of IEC and IEEE.

    Arc quenching takes place under 71PSIG of SF6 gas pressure.

    Superior Mechanical Endurance

    Mechanical endurance is demonstrated by life test of 10,000

    operations.

    The HICO pneumatic operating mechanism has been

    demonstrated to have high reliability for over 20 years in all

    types of climates and conditions.

    Adopting SINGLE PUFFER System reduces thenumber of parts and makes the interrupter

    simple and reliable.

    Closing resistor can be provided initially andremoved as requirements change.

    Operating Mechanism

    Operating mechanism of the 362kV GCB is of the pneumatic type with proven capability and reliable operation history.

    It satisfies the operating duty O-0.3s-CO-3m-CO required by IEC and IEEE.

    It is designed and manufactured to interrupt in less than two cycles.

    Interrupter is opened using compressed air and is closed using energy stored in coil-spring charged by open operation.

    It can be opened and closed manually and safely by using a simple jacking system.

    Installation and Maintenance

    All Circuit Breakers are designed, built, and tested in accordance with

    the latest versions of ANSI & IEEE Standards C37.04, C37.06, C37.09.

    HICO seeks to exceed all established testing criteria by carrying out

    additional tests we consider essential in producing a higher reliabilityproduct.

    Testing Laboratory

    1. Professional maintenance system ensures life-long reliability.

    2. HICOs comprehensive service offerings, prompt response time and

    efficient & professional support are in place around the clock all

    around the world.

    3. Following factory assembly and testing, the Gas Circuit Breaker is

    disassembled for packing and shipment.

    4. All breakers supplied to North American sites are inspected,

    assembled, and tested at HICO Americas U.S. facility.

    Where possible, breakers are shipped assembled on conventional

    low-bed trucks to the customers site.

    HICO America also provides installation assistance and field

    support.

    The equipment is designed to minimize the number of disassembled

    parts, while considering performance, maintenance, ease of

    installation and transportation. The disassembled parts are packed as

    complete units whenever possible to lower the construction costs at

    the sites.

    To maintain the highest criteria of operating reliability, a routine

    inspection and maintenance schedule may be recommended.
