To accommodate additional exhibitor pressure, still rising as the event draws closer, extra floorspace has been negotiated in Hall 4- immediately nearly 30% allocated, Eight months ahead, EUROCHEM 80 is 25% bigger than its 1977 predecessor with over 16,000 m2 fully booked compared with the previous 13,000. Over 25% is taken by overseas suppliers determined to expand into UK markets. Prominent among foreign stands at EUROCHEM for the second time are Demag, Sulzer, KSB, Amafilter and Argus. Newcomers from overseas include Voest Alpine, Kennemer Van Tongeren, Uddeholm, Buhler Miag and Euroform. There is also a big joint venture of Dutch suppliers. As it is continental exhibiting practice for top directors and owners to serve at the major international trade fairs, EUROCHEM 80 is a unique opportunity to make personal contact with some of the world’s most powerful suppliers to the chemical and processing industries, ranging from petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals through plastics, foodstuffs, fertilizers, textiles, metal finishing, steel and paper-making to gas, water and electricity supplies. On average, returning exhibitors are taking stands 20% larger, such is the confidence they now feel in the world-class event. Among them are APV, Alfa Laval, Corning, Worthington Simpson and Petrocarbon Developments. British newcomers among the 350 exhibitors to date include Robert Jenkins, NEl. BSC Stainless, Gray Tool and Thomas Broadbent. The concurrent conference provides a major boost to EUROCHEM’s international ambitions with the news that the event is now endorsed by EFCE, the European Federation of Chemical Engineering.
