IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUILDERS AND INSTALLERS
The recent revision of NZS 3604:2011 has resulted in some changes to
the methods used for designing and installing GIB EzyBrace® bracing
elements.
Full information relating to design and installation of GIB EzyBrace®
bracing elements are provided in the publication GIB EzyBrace®
Systems May 2011.
KEY CHANGES
• GIB EzyBrace ® 2011 systems requiring GIB Braceline ® can now be
fastened with 32mm x 6g GIB ® Grabber ® screws.
• The corner fastener pattern now requires 2 additional screws
to each corner of all bracing elements.
• Ceiling diaphragms are now limited to 12m in length.
Any 10 or 13mm GIB ® Plasterboard lining may now be
used for ceiling diaphragms.
Information relating specifically to the correct installation of GIB EzyBrace® bracing elements
will be provided in the next reprint of the GIB® Site Guide. In the meantime they are provided in
this publication. These pages replace pages 52 – 54 in the GIB ® Site Guide Jan 2010 when
installing GIB EzyBrace ® 2011 systems. Projects designed using GIB EzyBrace ® 2009
systems still need to be installed using those system requirements.
