the 2nd Annual LatAm It & technology in Mining Conference was organized at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santiago, Chile on 07 - 08 August 2018. This intellectually dynamic Summit was a successful gathering of the most influential personnel from regional mining organizations, key decision makers from globally renowned mining conglomerates, industry experts and intricately chosen attendees from across the region and internationally.

The core focus area of this elite gathering was to bring together various stakeholders from mining companies, research institutions and IT industry specialists to focus on sharing the current market trends, technological advancements and future challenges in IT and technology for a sustainable and smart mining industry in Latin America.

The Conference was a two-day event which included a proficient Masterclass that was attended by 150+ delegates who witnessed, discussed and networked with expert speakers, panelists and innovative Information Technology service providers to explore the various possibilities, scope and solutions that can help attain a sustainable and smart mining eco system.

• The Conference was inaugurated by the Regional Ministerial Secretary, Mr. Patricio valdés fuentealba, who graced us with his esteemed presence and shared his wisdom and vision for the future of the mining industry in Latin America.

• The Opening Keynote was presented by Carlos turina, Data science Director, Codelcotech, Chile who addressed the critical elements of Adding Value through Data Science and discussed the role and impact of Digital Transformation in the mining industry.

• The Conference was managed efficiently by the Chairperson, edson Antonio, Data science Program Leader, vale, Brazil.

• As a part of the Leadership Panel Discussion, the esteemed panelists had a comprehensive discussion about Innovation in Industrial IoT for smart and sustainable mining and the Increasing role of Automation and Robotics in the mining industry.

• The Elite Masterclass was organized by Fundación Chile and included exceptional content, effective questions practical resolutions and explained Interoperability guidelines on Wireless Communication.
