He will be some kind of superhuman world dictator, with great charisma and speaking ability. The Bible even gives some clues about his personal characteristics. The prophet Daniel wrote that the Antichrist "does not regard the desire of women."--this may imply that he's either celibate or homosexual--that he will have a "fierce countenance" or stern look, that he will be "more stout than his fellows"-more proud and boastful, and that he "understands dark sentences", referring to his possessing supernatural powers!--Of witchcraft? Although he may originally be from Egypt, this Antichrist "King of the North" seems to rise to power in Russia by resurrecting this former economic & military Superpower from the chaos left by the former Soviet Union. The prophet Ezekiel names him as "Gog" the ruler of "Magog" a name that Biblical scholars agree denotes a country or region of peoples to the North of Israel. Many interpret this to mean modern Russia. His power base will eventually also include the leading nations of Europe! After uprooting 3 of its "10 Kings", the Bible says, they will "give their power and strength unto the beast."

At first the Antichrist will be received as a great hero, the saviour of the World, "the Messiah" by orthodox Jews, "the Mahdi" by some Muslims and even as a "New Christ" by the followers of the New One World Religion, as he confirms the "Holy Covenant" But halfway through his 7-year reign he will break the Covenant, invade Israel and forbid and abolish all traditional religious worship, declaring, "I am God! Fall down and worship me!" 2Thes.2:3,4 At this time he will place an idol, an image of himself in the rebuilt Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, the so-called "Abomination of Desolation" Dan.11:31

The AC genius may come into fame, riding on a wave of World euphoria, by masterminding this 7-year peace agreement or "Covenant" promising the World "peace!" He may deftly settle the current Middle East crisis, by working out some delicate compromise between the Arabs and Israel, by internationalising the "Holy City" Jerusalem. This "Holy Covenant" most likely promises & guarantees religious freedom for Jews, Muslims and Christians alike, with free access for all, to their several holy places.

He specifically enables the Jews to rebuild their ancient Temple on Mt. Moriah where it once stood until 70 AD, and where the Muslim "Dome of the Rock" Mosque stands today since 600 A.D. The very fact that the Jews will actually start building their Temple, can only indicate that they believe that their long awaited Messiah has arrived, as without his presence this would not be possible! Therefore scholars believe that they will actually accept the AC as their "messiah", and therefore he is most likely to be of Jewish descent but perhaps even from Arab background as well, as otherwise neither party would receive him! This "King of the South" may very well be the leadership of the U.S. and Israel together, as America and Israel are politically virtually one and the same power! Although anything is possible of course, it seems very unlikely that, in these short last 7 years, some other superpower would rise from nowhere to take over America's place in the World's balance of power. During the Tribulation, the so-called "7 Tribulation Trumpets" will herald several "woes" or judgments of God on the wicked persecutors of His Children, a time so terrible that the Bible says, "in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them" Rev 9:6. The Tribulation ends with the "7th Last Trump" at the return of Christ, when the "Mystery of God" shall be finished! For the sake of His saved, born-again children--the so-called "Elect"--this Tribulation "shall be shortened" and last only 3½ lunar years, 42 lunar months or 1260 days to be exact, as they will be taken out of this World through the Rapture! During this time, also many Worldlings will begin to wake up and look for the coming of "some Christ!" That's why Jesus warns us explicitly to not be deceived by false Christs & false Prophets! Jesus will not come from some secret chamber or out of a desert! We will know exactly when He comes, because He will come as lightning from the sky shining from the East to the West. We'll first witness the "Resurrection of the dead in Christ", and then we'll rise together with them into the sky to meet Him in the air!--A phenomenon commonly known as the "Rapture!" God's people, His beloved children who know His Word, can't fall for these deceptions, but will partly stand up against the forces of evil, but also get away from them. God's prophets will be doing great and mighty signs, wonders and miracles to defend the Gospel and God's children! (Revel. 7:3, Revel. 9:11, Revel. 11:3-6.) God's trained and chosen teachers will explain from His Word to these multitudes of people, what is going on and how to survive and how long it will last! When the Antichrist first arises as a world leader, the whole World thinks he's great and follows him, except of course those who really know God's Word and will recognise him for what he really is. Rev.13:3 Well, they may all be deceived by him and wonder after him for a while, at least until the middle of his reign. But when he suddenly invades Jerusalem, sets up an idol of himself in the Holy Place and sits in the Temple of God saying: "I am God, fall down and worship me and my idol and accept my brand or you're going to be killed!"--At that point, obviously, many millions of freedom-loving people, entire nations and religions, will reject the 666 chip-Mark and refuse to worship him and his Image and will rebel against his Satanic kingdom, resulting in nothing but trouble from then on, according to the Bible. When the Antichrist reaches the middle of the 7 years and tries to wipe out all traditional religions to establish his world religion of self-worship of the Devil and his idol, this is when he really starts getting into trouble--both with the peoples of the World and the religions of the World and their followers-and he begins having all kinds of wars, some of which you can read about in Daniel 11. He has wars with different areas and nations and peoples, no doubt with those who are the most religious, who are very much against the Antichrist, the Anti-AC rebels or so-called "spared!" He will have a lot of problems in those last days of his reign, and God Himself will give him a lot of problems too, through many plagues and even monsters! At this time we'll not only go up and meet the Lord and enjoy the wonderful Marriage Supper of the Lamb, but we'll also face the Judgement Seat of Christ, in which all Christians who have ever lived will be judged and rewarded for their successes and obediences, or chastised for their failures, as it says that some will awake to "shame and everlasting contempt".

Then they will enter into the particular places that God has seen fit for them to occupy in His Kingdom on Earth over the surviving unsaved people who will remain here for a thousand-year period known as the Millennium!

At the same time, right after the Lord rescues and raptures us to be with Him, the horrific Seven Vials of the great Wrath of God are going to be poured out upon the Antichrist and his followers, in the form of horrible, terrible plagues such as the World has never known.

Yet everyone on Earth will see God's glorious power and Kingdom and everybody will believe then! There won't be any unbelievers, but sad to say there will still be many un-receivers who won't yield and obey and prefer to be stubborn, rebellious and defiant! During the Millennium though, we, the born-again, saved, resurrected Saints, will be in new supernatural bodies with amazing miraculous powers such as indestructibility, no pain, sickness or death, the abilities to appear and disappear, fly, change our appearance into inscrutable disguises to spy on rebels and invade their most secret hide-outs or even their very thoughts with new mind-reading abilities and x-ray eyes to see through walls and across vast stretches of distance to detect their plans and operations, and even as a very last resort, power to destroy the worst of them at a thought, glance or motion! Meanwhile we can communicate with each other by mental telepathy without even speaking a word, even over great distances etc., whereas the enemies of God's love will have none of these advantages, so it will be fairly easy to rule over them with the wisdom, power, justice and love of Jesus under His personal leadership!
