by Board of Secondary Education. Orissa or equivalent examination for the post of Asst. R.I. and Amin.(f) He/ She must be sound health, good physique and active habits and free from organic defects, Physical and
mental infirmity and must qualify in test as physical fitness as specified in rule 7 of the ODRS Rules 1983 asamended from time to time i.e.(i) must not be less than 155 centimeters in height and 80 centimeters round thechest. (ii) must know cycling and swimming.
(g) He must be of good character and shall furnish along with the application, a certificate of Good Character fromthe head of the institution in which he last studied.
(h) Candidates who qualify in the test of physical fitness shall be eligible to appear in the written test comprisingthe following papers namely:-( i) Ari thmetic- 100 Marks(ii) Hand writing in Oriya- 50 Marks

Selection of the outstanding sports men/women for appointment in relaxation of normal recruitmentrules will be made on the basis of performance test(s) to be conducted by a committee. Candidatesshould, therefore, remain prepared to appear such performance test(s) at their own cost at anyplace in Orissa.

6. CHARACTER AND PHYSICAL FITNESS :i) The character of a candidate must be such as to render him
suitable in the opinion of the court in all respects for appointmentto the service. He must produce a certificate of good characterfrom the District Judge of the District in which he has beenpracticing as a lawyer and two such certificates, written notmore than six months prior to the date of submission ofapplication to the court, from two responsible person not relatedto him.
ii) A person dismissed by the Central Government or by the StateGovernment or convicted of an offence involving moral turpitudeshall not be eligible for appointment.
iii) No person shall be appointed as a member of the service bydirect recruitment unless he is in good mental and bodily healthand free from any physical defect likely to interface with theefficient performance of his duties as a member of the service.Before a candidate is finally approved for appointment by directrecruitment, he shall be required to appear before a medicalboard which will examine him and certify if he is fit forappointment to the service.
7. DISQUALIFICATION FOR APPOINTMENT : No person shall bequalified for appointment to the Service or being in Service-
i) If he has more than one spouse living;ii) If he has been dismissed or removed from service by any High
Court, Government or Statutory Body or Local Authority;iii) If he was or is convicted for any offence involving moral
turpitude, or has been permanently debarred or disqualified byany High Court or Union Public Service Commission or anyState Public Service Commission from appearing in anyexamination or interview;
iv) If he being an. Advocate was found guilty of professionalmisconduct under the provisions of Advocates Act, 1961(Central Act 25 of 1961) or other law for the time being in force;
v) If he has more than two children on/or after the date ofcommencement of these rules. Provided that the candidatehaving more than two children shall not be deemed to bedisqualified for appointment so long as number of children he/she on the date of commencement of the rules does not
increase;Provided further that where a candidate has only one childfrom earlier delivery but more than one child is born out of asingle subsequent delivery, the children, so born shall be deemedto be one entity while counting the total number of children.Explanation: For the purpose of this clause, child born within280 days from the date of commencement of these rules shallnot constitute disqualification, vi) If he has accepted or acceptsdowry at the time of his marriage.
Explanation: In this clause, the word Dowry shall have the samemeaning as assigned it in Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 (Central Act-26 of 1961).
8. CANVASSING : No recommendation for recruitment eitherwritten or oral other than that required under these Rules, shallbe taken into consideration. Any attempt on the part of acandidate to enlist support directly or indirectly for thiscandidature by other means shall disqualify him for recruitment.
9. A candidate who resorts to any irregular or improper meansfor obtaining admission to the examination or appearance atinterview shall, in additional to rendering himself liable to criminalprosecution, be debarred either permanently or for a specifiedperiod, from admission to any examination or appearing at any
interview for selection of candidates, or from employmentunder the Government by competent authority.
10. EXAMINATION FEE: Fee for the examination shall be as follows:(i) SC/ST Candidates : 100/-(ii) Persons with disabilities (All category) : 100/-(iii) OBC (As explained in Rule 10(2) of
RJS Rules, 2010) : 250/-(iv) All other candidates : 500/-
Above required examination fee shall have to be depositedthrough a crossed demand draft in the name of Registrar General,
Rajasthan High Court,Jodhpur payable at State Bank of India,Jodhpur.No claim for the refund of the examination fee shall beentertained nor the fee shall be held in reserve for any otherexamination unless the candidate is not admitted to theexamination by the Court.
11. SYLLABUS AND SCHEME OF THE EXAMINATIONThe syllabus and scheme of written examination for competitiveexamination for recruitment to the District Judge Cadre shallconsist of (a) a written examination, and (b) an interview totest the general knowledge of the candidate and his fitness forappointment to the cadre. 11. Plan of Examination and selection procedure
A. Written examination:
The written examination will consist of the following three papers.
(a) General English - 50 marks of 1 hour duration
The questions on General English will broadly include (i) comprehension

of grammar. The questions will be of HSC standard.
(b) Oriya language - 50 marks of 1 hour duration
The questions on Oriya language will include letter writing, application,
report writing, short essay, translation from English to Oriya and
knowledge of grammar. The questions will be HSC standard.
(c) Technical (Textile Technology/Handloom Technology) -100 marks of 2
hours duration
The questions on Technical Paper will comprise of basic common
knowledge on Handloom or Textile Technology. The questions on
Technical paper will be of two parts i.e., Part-A (Handloom Technology)
and Part-B (Textile Technology). A candidate may opt for answering
either part-A or Part-B.
B. Career Assessment - 30 marks
There shall be assessment of career marks of the candidates on their
performance in H.S.C. and Diploma or equivalent examination from a
maximum of 30 marks.
C. Viva-voce Test - 20 marks
Candidates, nearly 3 times the vacancies in each category for the
post, will be called for appearing in the viva-voce test on the basis of

Walk-ln-lnterview forField Investigators
NCAP invites applications for Field Investigators, to be based at the selected villages in Orissa,India in its project on Tracking Change in Rural Poverty in Household and Village Economics in SouthAsia. The person should be capable of staying in the village and building and rapport with thevillagers, communicating with them in the local languages/dialects, collecting the required quality datafrom farm households and village institutions, and understanding the key issues related to ruralpoverty and agriculture of humid tropics of India. This is a purely temporary and contractualposition.About NCAP: NCAP was established in 1991 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR),to (i) strengthen agricultural economics and policy research in national agricultural system, (ii) serveas eyes and ears for the Council in policy matters; and (iii) increase Councils participation inagricultural policy related issues. The Centre is committed to provide leadership role in providingempirical analysis for informed policy decision. The centre is recognized for its significant contributionsin the areas related to research investments, research resource allocation, WTO and trade inagriculture, private sector participation in agricultural extension, monitoring and evaluation of agriculturalresearch and O&M reforms, impact assessments, institutional aspects, food policy, agriculturalinvestment, etc.About the project: The proposed project aims to sharply increase the availability of data for
decision making on development issues to reduce impoverishment in poverty-laden regions in thesemi-arid and humid tropics of South Asia. The project is implemented jointly by ICRISAT, IRRI andNCAP. NCAP is responsible for undertaking the project in humid tropics of India.Responsibilities: Investigate into the rural poverty and agriculture in the Humid Tropics of India mainly through
collection of quality data. Provide useful feedback from the village to the research team at NCAP to improve the
questionnaires and also to fill the gaps unearthed by quantitative data. In the process, the incumbent is expected to build a good rapport with the villagers and communicate
with them on a regular basis in local languages/dialects.Requirements: Post-graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Applicants should have excellent communication skills in spoken and written local language The successful candidate should have an ability and willingness to stay in the village on a regular
basis and should be a team player with good PR skills. Experience in undertaking socio-economic surveys especially in rural areas and good computer

General:The position is for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the
