This firestation uses the higway to rhythmicaly monumentalize the importance of the firefighters. In part, the large impact created on the highway is due to its hiearchical scale, with a training tower 70 tall, that also acts as a look out tower. The building is seperated into service spaces, administrative, apparatus, and living quarters. Privacy on the living side increases from the ground floor containin training rooms gradually as you reah the top floor. Deep balconies with shrubbery give private outdoor areas to the firefighters. Natural firefighters. Natural ventilation is achieved through the shear hight of the building and linear connectivity as natural lighting flows through clear story windows. A responce is made to the neighboring skate park with an outdoor spruce tree lounge forviewing of the specticles while views toward the mountainsare maintained from the main living area. The efficiency of the building is key with all areas having a direct rout to the drivethrough apparatus bathrough apparatus bay, helping the firefighters do their jobs sothey can beer help their community.
