Retail success through SCM innovation – The L’Occitane experience

Aidan joined L’Occitane in 2010 as CFO and COO – Asia Pacifi c with responsibility for the Finance, Supply Chain, IT and HR areas.

He has held several positions including management accountant at Grand Metropolitan Plc and BAT Plc in London, Controller & Commercial Manager with a German electronics company in Hong Kong, Finance Head at a Media company in Munich, Portfolio Controller in Sydney, Australia and Finance Director at Leica in Switzerland. In 2007 after acquisition by Danaher Inc., he transferred back to Hong Kong/ Shanghai as Finance Director at two divisions.

At Retail World Asia 2014 conference, Aidan will discuss on how to adapt to the changing consumer dynamics while maintaining a balanced approach based on L'Occitane en Provence’s successful business model.

Increasing market share and retail penetration in emerging markets

Ramanathan Hariharan or ‘Ram’, as he is popularly known joined Landmark Group Dubai in 1994 and played a pivotal role in the launch of the Group’s fashion brand Splash. Realizing the importance and potential of the Indian operations, Ram moved as Managing Director to head Lifestyle, India in June 2000. Having successfully launched Lifestyle in India, Ram was identifi ed to conceptualize and build Max, the Group’s value fashion business in 2004. In the last eight years, Max has grown to 225 stores in 15 countries and is the leading value fashion retailer in Middle East, North Africa and India with revenues in excess of US$1.2 billion. Catch Ram at the Day 1 Opening Keynote ‘Visionary leaders’ perspective’ session and interact with him personally as he shares at the Closing Roundtable session on successful retailing in emerging markets.

New commerce, innovated retail – The role of NFC in retail and payments In 2000, Nicholas was assigned to manage the islandwide implementation of a contactless multipurpose stored value card system (EZ Link card) worth $300 million. This included the design, development and implementation of a clearing-settlement backend system and the rollout of acceptance terminals across all mass rapid transit and bus transport systems in Singapore.

Following the launch of the EZ-link card in 2002, Nicholas moved on to EZ Link Pte Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Land Transport Authority) as business manager with the primary responsibility of developing its business model and operating structure. In 2003, Nicholas was appointed Senior Vice President of EZ Link Pte Ltd with overall responsibility for its strategic business development and technology activities. His other key responsibilities include supervising the marketing efforts of the company and overseeing its operations and corporate communications. Currently he is the Chief Executive Offi cer with EZ Link Pte Ltd.
