Welcome to our 22nd Annual Adair Ranch Bull and Female Sale. The 2014 season blessed us with above

average crops and silage in our area as well as tremendous grass for the entire season. One of the greatest

blessings over the past 22 years has to be the wonderful people we have met and the friends we have made in the

Simmental business. Thank you for your interest and support of our program during this time.

Our cow herd is calving in April and May thus aligning the cows nutritional requirements with peak seasonal

grass production. We have applied heavy selection pressure to our cowherd for sound udders, feet and fleshing

ability. Our cows utilize standing corn, stubble grazing, chaff piles, swath grazing, bale grazing, silage pile

grazing and stock piled pasture through the winter months. The first year the bulls are wintered on a growing

ration and then on grass from mid-April to mid-November when we start to feed a balanced high roughage

ration. This set of bulls born in April/May have the potential to cover more cows in the first season.

Sires represented in our 2015 sale include TNT Gunsmoke U223, Red Beckton Hustler S426, TNT Fire It

Up Y365, MRL Red Force 12U, LWC Crosby, Wheatland Ultimate Choice, WFL Identity 23X, Dream On, Beef

Maker, Messmer Packer, and SAV Bismarck.

We have an excellent set of Simmental influenced open heifers including red blaze-faced and black heifers.

These heifers are consigned by our valued bull customers and represent some exceptional commercial

cattlemen. Also included in the sale offering are 30 bred heifers and young cows.

New this year is a consignment of 8 yearling Red Angus bulls from ERL Cattle Company, Eric, Rebekah and

Sawyer LeClair. We are pleased to have them join us for the 22nd annual sale.

Five years ago I found myself in Afghanistan with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry dreaming of ranching, especially in the purebred business. After I was released from the military I decided to attend Prairie Bible Institute. During my time there I met my future wife, Rebekah. One year later we were married on August 20, 2011. Together we worked towards our dream of becoming a purebred breeder. In the fall of 2013 we purchased our first three registered Red Angus heifers from Redrich Farms. We were finally heading in the right direction. A month later we were connected with Thiessen Red Angus and purchased twenty-nine of his finest females. His herd originated from That’ll Do Ranch and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of cattle from both programs. Fall of 2014 truly was a dream come true. We had our first bulls in the pen and an optimistic future in the cattle business. We also were able to welcome our first addition to our family. TERMS & CONDITIONSTerms: The terms of this sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.

Bid: Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

Disputes: In some cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

Announcements: Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Bidders are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

Certificate of Registry: The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after the settlement has been made.

Breeders Guarantee: Bulls – Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that the semen collected from the bull will be suitable for artificial insemination. Heifers – All have been palpated and guaranteed open and in good health by a local veterinarian.

Exception to Guarantee: In cases where the animal is subject to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

Settlement: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller for account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as fee, A.I., signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal a breeder then said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal is a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. the ranch or the refund of the actual price. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of the replacement animal, the Sales Management will appoint a mediator.

Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, Auctioneer, or Sellers assume any responsibility in this manner and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of the accident or loss of property.

Rights and Obligations: The above terms and conditions shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction. The rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

Bull Semen Retention: We are selling full possession, full salvage, plus 2/3 semen revenue. This means any semen sold on any of the bulls, Adair Ranch will receive 1/3 the selling price per unit. We also reserve the right to collect semen on any of the sale bulls, for our own use. This semen will be collected at our expense and the buyer’s convenience.
