The Oakville HEAT girls’ U10 soccer team travelled to Georgetown onthe July 15th-16th to participate in the Georgetown 7 v 7 Tournament.In the preliminary round of play, the HEAT managed to finish first intheir group. They returned on Sunday and defeated Burlington 1-0 inregular time. The final game was against Waterloo Flames. Oakvillehad many scoring opportunities but seemed to just miss the mark.Congratulations to the girls for finishing second out of a field of 14teams, particularly in such extreme heat. The White Oaks Wildcats is a school-based team from White OaksSecondary School. In their seventh year of operation they added totheir impressive winning strike by capturing the 2006 COA UltimateNational Championship in Orlando, Florida. The Oakville Hawks Peewee 2 lacrosse team had a 5-2 championshipvictory over Orangeville. Oakville overpowered their opponents bygoing undefeated at the July 7-9 Niagara Thunderhawks 2006Tournament. Goalie Ben Neeb made some unforgettable savesthroughout which earned him the MVP of the tournament.
