‘ PROJECT’
Studies & Build Project “Railway Bridge Fault Detector” (In Final Year Diploma)
ABSTRACT
1) The development of low-cost wireless sensor networks has resulted in resurgence in the
development of ambient vibration monitoring methods to assess the in-service condition of train bridges.
2) As evidenced by bridge collapses over the past decades, the current practice of schedule-based
visual inspections does not guarantee bridges are closed prior to failure. Also the flood conditions and
whirling winds are responsible for train accidents.Beside assuring public safety.
3) Sensor-based methods can potentially reduce infrastructure-rehabilitation costs through efficient
needs-based maintenance than necessitated by traditional cable-based sensors.
4) This paper presents the brief idea about train bridge fault detection system, in which bridge
vibrations, wind speed and flood conditions will be detected so as to avoid derailment.
