2020 SEG Workshop on Underground Water and Karst Imaging

27–29 August 2020 | Beijing, China

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONNatural and engineering activities affect underground water systems, the most drastic changes from which may be observed in karsts. It is crucial to image the underground in order to evaluate many global challenges such as water pollution, flow path distribution, sinkhole development, soil moisture, water cycle system, etc. Geophysical methods offer a unique pathway to image the subsurface from the property differences. The goal of this workshop is to bring together new initiatives, methodologies, imaging approaches, and case studies toward understanding underground water and karst systems that lie within the subsurface critical zone. We encourage contributions from traditional and novel methodologies with applications improving the understanding and monitoring of underground water and karst systems.

ABSTRACT FORMATAbstracts should be in English and sufficiently explanatory for the committee to evaluate. Abstracts should be 1-4 pages. Abstracts should be on A4 paper size, have text in 9 point Roman font, and include both text and figures. Title should be one or two-line, at the top of the page, in bold font, and size 11 points. Authors should be listed in Roman italic font, size 10 points, and located just below the title. All text should must stay one inch clear of the margins of the page. Submissions should be in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
