Complete additional paperwork required at the time of payment. Insurance Student Accident Insurance is available for purchase, but is not mandatory, for the term of your child’s enrollment. Cancelled Camps and Changes Pitt Community College reserves the right to cancel any camp prior to the first meeting due to limited enrollment. In such a case, you will be notified and your fee will be refunded. We also reserve the right to change instructors. Lunch Campers must provide their own meals. Campers may not leave campus for lunch unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Lunch can be eaten in between camps on campus. Breaks There will be a scheduled break time for each camp. During this time, campers may eat snacks brought from home or purchased from campus drink and snack machines. If your child wants to purchase snacks, you must provide correct change. Explore! Camp is not responsible for money lost in machines. Transportation The parent or guardian is responsible for transportation to and from camps, regardless of camp location. The camper is expected to arrive 15-20 minutes before the camp start time. All campers should be picked up promptly when camp is over. Pictures and Video During camps, pictures and videos may be taken by camp staff. If you do not wish for your child’s pictures or videos to be used in future promotional materials or posted on our PCC Explore! STEM CampsExplore: Rocket Kart Racers Blast off in making your first 3D Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing style game! Design your own tracks and customize your karts and characters. Using a professional 3D game development software, campers will combine their creations into their own kart racing game that they can play with friends and family at home. Campers can participate in eSports League races against other schools across the country with a chance to have their tracks featured in the Black Rocket master build of the game! Explore: eSports Apprentice - YouTube Streamers & Gamers Learn competitive game-play skills in Black Rocket’s new eSports App, how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software, and most importantly, practice online safety. Explore: Inventors League - Prototyping for the Future! Become an inventor of the future! Learn “rapid prototyping’ and problem solving as you conceptualize and design a product to solve a critical global issue. Each day begins with inspirational profiles of young inventors, such as the eleven year old who coded a robot to find victims of natural disasters. Next, research a problem to tackle in medicine, architecture, the environment, or a topic of your choosing. Once your vision is complete, learn how to draft 2D designs, create 3D models, and develop a website to pitch your ideas to the class. Location: Greenville Center, Room 402. Explore: Javascript Developer Jam Learn programming tools so powerful they seem like magic! Campers will learn an array of core programming concepts with JavaScript by experimenting in a series of digital challenges. Start with programming your first animated memes, then tackle more advanced skills such as interactive 3D experiences and game creation. Location: Greenville Center, Room 402. Explore: Minecraft Redstone Engineers Take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Expand your Redstone knowledge by constructing your own carnival with a variety of mini-games, roller coasters, and attractions powered by Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level! Location: Greenville Center, Room 402. Explore: YouTube Content Creators Find your voice and leave your mark on the world! Whether you are six or sixty, it’s time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the Do’s and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class! Explore: Try a Trade Camp Campers will have the opportunity to learn about trade skills. We will be highlighting the programs in our PCC Technical Academy to make campers aware of what PCC has to offer them. Campers will spend a day in each of the four areas (Computer Integrated Machining, Electrical Systems Technology, HVAC, and Industrial Systems Technology) and learn that particular trade skill. We are hoping to inspire an interest in these programs to make campers want to be a part of our Technical Academy their Junior and Senior years of high school. As our Technical Academy grows, we will offer other trade skill areas. Location: A.B. Whitley Building, Room 215 on PCC Campus. Cost: $130June 22 - 25 • 8:30am -12pm • Rising 7th - 10th graders

MUSIC CampsExplore: May the Force Be With You: Piano Space Explorers Blast-off and explore outer space and beginning piano for those who are just learning or who have never played. Using activities with an outer space theme, campers are introduced to the fundamentals of music through movement, singing, games, crafts, piano, improvisation, ear training and music reading. Location: Music Academy of Eastern Carolina. Cost: $90July 13 - 17 • 1pm - 4pm • Ages K- 6th grade

Explore: Beginner Guitar Academy Learn to speak the musical language with your guitar! We will teach you basic skills, correct left and right hand positions; special exercises to accelerate the guitar playing; how to get started with chords; rhythm, patterns, and strums; successful practice techniques; and much more. Location: MAEC. Cost: $90June 22 - 26 • 1pm - 4pm • Ages K- 6th grade

Campers will have the chance to explore and practice with musical instruments such as woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, guitar, piano, voice and recorders. This is a great hands-on opportunity to see what instrument and medium is right for you! Location: MAEC. Cost: $90July 13 - 17 • 9:30am - 12:30pm • Ages K- 6th grade

Explore: Rock Stars Designed for campers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned artists, this program is taught by real musicians, working with campers to play full songs in no time! Campers are placed in a band according to their age and skill level and the requirements of ensemble playing, teamwork and achievement of musical objectives are stressed. Location: MAEC. Cost: $90July 20 - 24 • 9:30am - 12:30pm • Ages 6-11 | July 20 - 24 • 1pm - 4pm • Ages 12 and up

Explore: Ukulele is Cool! Catch the joy of learning to play ukulele! Learn to tune, hold, strum and sing along with your ukulele; all the basics you need to know to get started on a life filled with ukulele bliss. By the end of camp, you should be able to play and sing 4 to 5 songs with basic strumming patterns. Location: MAEC. Cost: $90June 22 - 26 • 9:30am - 12:30pm • Ages K- 6th grade

ARTS/CREATIVE CampsExplore: Plan, Design, Draw This Interior Design camp will be focused on showing campers the techniques of scale and proportions, room layout, design transfer and basic rendering principles. You will be able to measure and design your own rooms, figure out furniture placement, and even give color to your creations! Location: Greenville Center, Room 302. Cost: $139June 22 - 25 • 9am - 12pm • Rising 5th graders & up

Explore: Create Your Own Character Come learn the basics of sewing and creature design. Campers will design a monster from scratch, using techniques of professional character designers. You will also learn basic hand sewing techniques to create a stuffed version of your monster. Location: Greenville Center, Room 302. Cost: $79June 8 - 12 • 9am - 12pm • Ages 8 & up

Explore: iPad Art Campers will learn the basics of how to use a tablet to create digitally painted images. You will learn about brush types, layers, and various techniques to take a drawing from start to finish. Location: Greenville Center, Room 302. Explore: Computer Electronics with Robotics Join us as we explore the exciting world of electronics and robotics! This camp will teach you a variety of skills such as soldering and coding. Explore: Lego Mindstorms Learn all about Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 robots and software. Campers will work with a partner to create a robot that can complete simple tasks. You will learn how to use multiple sensors and a drag and drop coding technique for programming your robot. Location: A.B. Whitley Building, Room 215 on PCC Campus. Explore: Cyber Security The Computer Technologies Department at PCC will host a week-long Air Force Association (AFA) CyberCamp. Designed for a range of technical skill levels, campers will learn cyber defense skills through hands-on instruction and activities. The AFA CyberCamp will culminate in a final team competition that simulates real cyber security situations faced by industry professionals. Location: Humber Building, Room 211 on PCC Campus. Cost: $131July 13 - 17 • 1pm - 5pm • Rising 8th - 12th graders

Explore: STEAM Camp Campers will be introduced to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) based careers here on PCC’s campus through hands-on activities in our CIT division. We plan to introduce campers to approximately 2 different programs a day, possibly more with time permitting. Each activity will be used to show campers the importance of STEAM and how it is constantly used in the everyday workplace. Location: A.B. Whitley Building, Room 215 on PCC Campus. SPORTS CampsExplore: Dive into STEM Campers will be introduced to the underwater world through activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving and games, as well as through engaging in themed presentations about ocean conservation topics. Some of the themes include our National Marine Sanctuaries, Marine Biology, Trash Talk, Artificial Reefs, and Maritime archaeology. Location: Rum Runner Dive Shop. Explore: BMX Camp Learn top notch tricks while supporting your skills and greatly enhancing your abilities. Offered by the riders of ProTown BMX, campers will participate in groups of similar skills and age. Camp will offer safety education, bike maintenance, general skatepark etiquette, and skills/tricks using different ramps. Location: Varies throughout the week. Explore: Riverside Recreation Get bored doing the same thing all the time? Want to try a variety of outdoor recreational activities and indoor wellness activities? Camp will provide safety education, park/trail etiquette, river etiquette, and studio etiquette as campers participate in a variety of recreational activities including Kayaking, Yoga Trapeze, Pedal Boating, Tandem Biking, Dance, and SUP Boarding.
