Trunk or Treat was a huge success. Despite bad weather, we had about

4,000 people to come out! We had wonderful music and lots of candy! Everyone was patient and appreciative. Our volunteers were GREAT! Lots of connections were

made and many conversations about church were had.

“FBC Rock Hill is the best Faith Family Ever. We moved Trunk or Treat inside and everyone way outdid themselves. Staff and volunteers came together to serve THOUSANDS of people in our community! And what patient people in our community!”

- Pastor Steve Polk

Our Impact Mission Conference was November 6-10. Ed Humphrey, our team leader, did a fantastic job coordinating all of the different events and logistics. The missionaries arrived on Wednesday and met with the preschool, children’s, and pre-teen ministries that evening. On Thursday, they had lunch with our senior adults and evening fellowships with our Sunday School classes. On Friday, we hosted about 250 people for supper and Pastor Hogg interviewed different missionaries to learn about their areas of service. We heard from Ginger Duncan of United International Ministries and Jack Blankenship of Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Winthrop, York Tech, and Clinton College. We also heard an update from Andy Stewart and Taproot Church in San Antonio. Finally, we heard from missionaries from Indonesia. After hearing about the ministry there, we signed a three year partnership with them.

On Saturday morning, the men’s ministry hosted an event offsite. The women had a roundtable discussion in the Worship Center with our women missionaries and visited Children’s Attention Home where they delivered items that had been collected leading up to Impact. The response from the missionaries for the men’s and women’s events were very positive.

On Sunday morning, Pastor Hogg interviewed Kenny Dubnick and Jez Dearing from Birmingham in the UK. After hearing about their ministries there, we signed a three-year commitment with Jez and Second City Church. Pastor Hogg also interviewed Chris who works with Muslim refugees in Europe and will be leading a conference at First Baptist in March that focuses on the work with Muslim refugees around the world. We also heard from Craig who works with Muslims in a large city in Southeast Asia. At the end of the weekend, one of our missionaries, Andy Stewart, commented, “The week was a huge blessing. I was so refreshed, encouraged, and most of all, inspired by your beautiful church”.

Here are the total commitments made at the end of Impact:

- Total commitments - 296 - Prayer for Impact missionaries - 253 - Prayer for role in impacting the lost - 220 - Serve locally - 136 - Go to UK - 16 - Go to DR - 05 - Go to San Antonio - 12 - Go to Surabaya - 03 - More info about international projects - 15 - Help with IMB conference - 96 - Give to missions offering - 201

Acts 1:8 Missions Conference I 2019

In November and December our First Kids Preschoolers and Elementary Children collected money to help families in need in other parts of the world! We called it the “Barnyard Project”. We collected money to purchase chickens for families so that they can have eggs, both to eat and to sell.

To help motivate our kids and their familes, one of our awesome First Kids volunteers, Alan Hinchman, promised to dress as a chicken if we reached our goal with the “Barnyard Project”! Not only did we reach our goal, we surpassed it. Thank you, Alan, and thank you to all of our amazing Children’s Ministry First Kids volunteers! We could not do it without you!

CHILDREN’S CHIOR

“Thank you to all the cast of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. You did a great job! The Herdmans showed us that even the roughest, toughest people can be changed by Jesus! And the “church folks” reminded us that giving the gift of Jesus is still the Best Christmas present ever!”

- Kim Sloan (Pageant Director)

On December 08, our Children’s Choirput on “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical”, and our Pre-School choiropened the show! After the performances everyone enjoyed a delicious dessert social. All of our children did an amazing job and our voluteers did such a great job working with them over the last several weeks.

Thank You to everyone who rang the bell for the Salvation Army at Walmart this year. We had 78 people volunteer!

The week of Thanksgiving, several members of the Worship traveled to New York and joined with over 350 singers from across the country to premier a new Christmas musical titled “The Miracle of Christmas”. This musical was performed on November 25th in the world famous Carnegie Hall to a packed house of over 2000 people.
