Snack Bar and Shifts
The Team Parent is responsible for making sure that their parents work the required shift
in the snack bar. Please advise the parents that they are responsible for their own shift. If
they are not able to take the shift that was given they can switch with another person on
the team or hire a sub. Not showing up for a shift will impact the team.
A sub can be hired from the buyout list located on our website on the Snack Bar page.
The parent that needs the sub will be responsible for calling, hiring and making payment
to the sub. The snack bar will not be involved in this process other than providing the
contact list for the subs. A friend or family member that offers to cover a shift for a family
at no charge is acceptable as long as the individual is 16 years of age or older.
For a volunteer or buyout snack bar worker to cover your shift, an e-mail must be sent with the date of your shift, name and telephone number of individual covering the shift to [email protected].
**No one other than the shift workers, snack bar managers
and approved snack bar openers and closers are allowed in the
snack bar during a shift. Children are never allowed in the
snack bar during a shift. For your convenience, all shifts
coincide with your game times.
** No person under the age of 18 is allowed to work the BBQ.
We would like to avoid this season….
Not showing up for a shift… other parents must cover or the team forfeits the
game. The snack bar will not open until the assigned team representatives are
present for the applicable shift.
Any questions regarding the snack bar, please contact [email protected].

Field Maintenance
Each team is responsible for field maintenance. We would suggest that you
assign each parent a shift. You may want to also check with the Manager
first, in case they already have someone assigned to this job.
HOME TEAM – Before the Game - Drag the field (never use drag on the
baselines), rake baselines/home plate area, water infield/dirt area (damp
not soaked), Chalk first and third baselines, chalk batter boxes, set up
pitching machine for Minor B division games, install bases, install
scoreboard machine (Minor A, Majors and Juniors). *some of these duties
may not apply to T-Ball & Minor B Field.
AWAY TEAM - After the Game – Drag the field (never use drag on the
baselines), rake baselines/home plate area, water infield/dirt area (damp
not soaked), pick up trash around the field including bleachers and dugouts,
when last game of the day put away pitching machine for Minor B division
games, when last game of the day put away bases. *Some of these duties
may not apply to T-Ball & Minor B Field.
Eastern Little League Team Parent Meeting 2018
Scorekeeper
Minor A, Major and Junior Divisions all need at least 1 scorekeeper per
team.
The HOME team is the team responsible at the game to provide a
scorekeeper and run the scoreboard.
When the last game of the day put away the scoreboard machine.
Please make sure to ask parents before scheduling them as a scorekeeper.
Not everyone knows how to keep score. There will be a clinic for learning
how to keep score.
Some Managers prefer to have a Scorekeeper at every game to keep track
for their personal records. Please check with your manager is this will be
needed for your team.
It is helpful to get several people to share this duty.

End of Season Party
Team parent is responsible for working with the
manager and parents in organizing an End of
Season party.
Each team is responsible for purchasing their
own trophies and manager/coaches gifts. This
cost is divided among the players.
Some ideas for a party are; pizza party, ice
cream party, pool party, bowling or laser tag. You can always have it at
the park or in someone’s backyard. Mountain Mike’s Pizza on El Camino
will give the team a free 1-topping large pizza anytime the team goes for
pizza wearing their team uniform; this includes after games. Round
Table Pizza by Whole Foods is offering a 10% discount for parties.
Set the date and book the place early in the season as local locations fill
up fast.
We would suggest collecting the trophy, coach’s gift and party money at
the same time.
Eastern Little League Team Parent Meeting 2018
Eastern Little League Code of Conduct
Through baseball, the Eastern Little League (“ELL”) seeks to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of every child that takes part. It is the league’s express goal that every player will be a better citizen, and have a greater chance for success in future endeavors, as a result of their Little League experiences. As such, Eastern Little League expects the highest degree of sportsmanship from its members. In keeping with this philosophy, the following Code of Conduct has been adopted to better promote fairness, teamwork, good citizenship, sportsmanship, responsibility, and respect among the members of Eastern Little League. Players will learn these values by the examples they see from those around them, and to this end, the following rules will be strictly enforced:
Verbal abuse of an official, coach, player, or spectator, including obscene gestures, will not be tolerated. The offender may be removed from the ELL fields at the discretion of an umpire or ELL board member.
Baseball is a game of interpretations, and as a result, disputes will occur from time to time. However, it is important that players learn respect. All disputes that are taken up with the umpire will be handled in a civil manner. Only coaches may initiate such discussions with an umpire. The coach (es) will conduct themselves with decorum and once the umpire has made his/her final ruling, the coach (es) will make no further field protest. Off-field protests may be lodged with the Board of Directors per league policy.
Coaches will refrain from complaining about perceived bad calls to players and fans.
All discussions will be held in conversational tones. Under no circumstances will a coach, fan, or player yell at an umpire, coach, fan, or player. The lone exception to this rule is when a coach or player shouts to another coach or teammate during the course of a play as part of that play.
Profanity is expressly forbidden at all times at the Eastern Little League complex.
Alcoholic beverages and the use of illicit drugs are prohibited at all ELL activities, including events outside the Eastern Little League complex.
The use of tobacco products on the ELL fields and in the dugouts is prohibited. Anyone removed from the ELL fields must leave all fields and grounds. Any infraction of the above rules will result in a report being delivered to the Eastern Little League Board for consideration of further action, as appropriate. First Offense: Upon the reporting of an offense by an individual, the Board of Directors, at a minimum, will provide a written warning to the offender, detailing the consequences of future infractions. Depending upon the severity of the infraction, nothing precludes the Board of Directors from banning an offender from all Eastern Little League activities, including, but not limited to, practices and games, for a period of time deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.
Eastern Little League Team Parent Meeting 2018
Second Offense: The Board of Directors may institute a wide range of penalties for repeat offenders, beginning with the second offense, as deemed appropriate by the Board. Such penalties include, but are not limited to:
Suspension from all coaching activities for a prescribed period of time.
A ban from participating in all ELL activities for a set period of time or number of games.
Severe violations can result in suspension from all ELL activities for the remainder of the current season or tournament.
Third Offense: The Board of Directors may choose to apply any of the penalties prescribed for a second offense. In the most extreme of circumstances, the ELL Board of Directors may hold a meeting to determine whether or not the individual should be permanently banned from all future ELL activities. The individual in question must receive a certified letter of such a hearing at least one week prior to the meeting, and must be given the opportunity to speak at the meeting. Physical Abuse - Physical abuse of an official, coach, player, or spectator will result in immediate expulsion from the ELL fields at the direction of an umpire or a ELL board member. Anyone expelled for this reason may not return to the ELL fields or participate in any ELL activity until the ELL Board of Directors approves. Any parent, coach, fan, player, or umpire who has been suspended or banned from league activities may petition, in writing, to the Board of Directors for a review of the penalty. The petition should be delivered to the league president, and the Board of Directors will meet as soon as reasonably possible to consider the petition. The aggrieved parties will have the opportunity at the meeting to present their appeal. Eastern Little League strongly encourages the following:
Applaud effort on the field, regardless of the score.
Remember that the league exists for the players to learn and to have fun. Even though baseball is competitive in nature, winning is of secondary performance.
Parents should be supportive of coaches. The coaches are volunteers giving of their time – and often, giving of their money – in order to coach. Parents should be a positive role model that fosters respect of the coaches among the players. Concerns about a player’s role on a team should be expressed to the coach(es) in a private setting, never in public.
Umpires are “in training” as well as the players. Coaches and parents should bear in mind that many of our umpires are youngsters learning the skills of umpiring. All umpires will make mistakes occasionally, but coaches and parents are expected to accord the umpires with the respect their position within the game deserves.
Booing, taunting, refusing to shake another coach’s and/or player’s hands after a game, or ridiculing another player is not acceptable behavior.
Teach players that they have a responsibility to learn and to try their best. Effort leads to achievement and respect.
All children, regardless of race, creed, sex, or talent, will have an opportunity to play baseball and to learn.
Code of Conduct Acknowledgment I have read, understand, and agree to the above stated Code of Conduct of the Eastern Little League. I agree to be bound by its provisions.
