Work Zone Safety and Autonomous Vehicles

Each year there are 100,000 work zone crashes and 600 fatalities

One option: adapt a proven technology from U.S. Department of Defense

Leader-follower technology uses an automated vehicle as a buffer to protect vehicles and people. Robotic Research Inc., a Maryland company, is the national leader in this technology. The firm was recently awarded a $50 million contract from the US Army for the Expedient Leader Follower program. How can DOTs pay for this technology? Our finance partner is Compass Transportation and Technology Inc.
