2018 FOOD SAFETY TRAINING
The Food Safety Program of the Cincinnati Health Department offers workshops on food safety. Each class is designed to promote proper food handling procedures to prevent foodborne illness.
PERSON-IN-CHARGE (PIC) Food Safety Training – Level 1 The Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code (3717-1-02.4) requires that all food facilities have a person in charge (PIC) working at the operation at all times. To be a PIC, an employee should understand food safety procedures that relate to the operation. This class will cover food safety principles necessary to be a PIC.
COST: $25.00 per participant Length of Training: 3-hours course (times vary, see below) Registration includes materials and a certificate of attendance.

SERVSAFE® MANAGER’S CERTIFICATION COURSE – Level 2 This course is a detailed study of food safety procedures and prevention of foodborne illnesses. Developed by The National Restaurant Association, this HACCP-based course gives participants national, state and local recognition as certified in food safety.
COST: $150.00 per participant Length of Training: 2-day course (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Registration fee includes the two-day course, book, and examination.
ServSafe® Test/Retest only: $50.00 fee for examination only (Documentation required: proof of manager’s course taken
must accompany registration form.)

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING LOCATION: Training courses will be held at the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICES facility located at 1115 Bates Av. There will be signage on the room on the second floor. The person at the front desk will direct participants as they come in and sign in. Parking is limited although there is an overflow lot if you will, adjacent or perpendicular to the building depending on which way you are looking or standing.
Be sure to direct all questions or concerns to the Email on the bottom of the form, not to the training facility.
Registration fee is non-refundable. Substitutions of participants are PERMITTED for scheduled class.
