How you can get involved
2018 Camp Season Highlights
While sitting at the picnic table enjoying canteen with my Junior campers last Wednesday, one of the boys asked me if they were still raising money for the swimming pool. I told him that we had been raising money for the pool for quite a while, it is an ongoing activity. He asked me about the bath house and when we would build it. I told him it is in the works, but it too requires money to build. He then told me that he had money in his suitcase that he would like to contribute. I said the region would gladly take his money. Another young camper sitting across the table said that he had money in his suitcase also that he would like to give. I told both of them that I would gladly take their money and get it to the right people to help with the pool.
On Friday, the second young camper came to canteen and gave me a Ziploc bag with money in it. He looked at me, smiling, and said, "I told you I would give you money for the pool." I have $3.71 that a young camper is giving to help with maintaining our beloved Disciple Center at Tawakoni. It really doesn't matter how much you give, every penny helps. The genuine concern that moved this child to give should be shared by all of us. Belinda Amend Director for Chi-Rho 2/Junior 2, 2018
Several camp construction projects still need your support! Donate to the pool fund online at www.kansasdisciples.org or mail a check to the Topeka regional office. Make your money worth more by donating before August 31. All new donations to the pool fund received in July and August will be matched by an anonymous donor. (See story on page 1.) Help us pay off the pool and rebuild the bathhouse!
