ELIMINATION OF LATE FEE

By law, licensees are not authorized to practice dietetics if they fail to renew their license by October 31. In the past, the Board had a $100 late fee for renewals between November 1 and De-cember 31. This fee has been eliminated. Therefore, individu-als who do not renew by October 31 must reinstate their licens-es and may not practice dietetics in Maryland. The reinstate-ment fee is $576 this year. You may check the expiration date of your license available via the Board's website at www.dhmh.maryland.gov/dietetic. Click on “Verify a License.” If you do not plan to renew your license, you may consider plac-ing your license on inactive status for a one-time fee of $75. You may download the Inactive Status Application via the Board's website. Click on "Forms." Please renew your license on time.

The 2017 and 2018 renewal fee is $250. For the past few years, the re-

newal fee has been $286 ($250 renewal fee and $36 Health Care Com-

mission fee). The Health Care Commission has reduced their fee from

$36 to $26 for 2017 and 2018. Therefore, for the next 2 years, the

Board will pay for the $26 HCC fee for licensure renewals. Since the

Board has been fiscally responsible and has a healthy budget, the Board

is able to pay for the HCC fee for the next 2 years.
