JUAN PABLO MONTOYA

Widely considered one of the top drivers of this era, Juan Pablo Montoya currently drives the

No. 2 IndyCar for Pensky Racing Team in the IndyCar Series. He is known internationally for his

participation in Formula One®, IndyCar, NASCAR, CART & F3000.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, his father Pablo taught him the techniques of karting from an early

age and Montoya quickly developed an enthusiasm for racing. Montoya has participated in many

different racing series throughout the world. He earned 7 wins and 30 podium finishes throughout

his Formula 1™ career before moving in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and winning Rookie of the

Year during his first season in 2007.

He is the only driver in history to win a CART Series title, the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of

Daytona all in his first attempt. He has also captured first at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix in

2003 as a driver for the Williams-BMW team. Montoya’s driving resumé is vast and impressive with

numerous wins across the board deeming him a figurehead in the world of racing.

After his NASCAR Sprint Cup run, he joined Team Pensky in 2014 and is currently competing in the

IndyCar Series driving the No. 2 Dallara-Chevrolet. He captured 2nd in the series only after a tie with

Scott Dixon who won three races over Montoya’s two back in 2015.
