Term Explanation
State assessment This includes the PSSA, PASA, and Keystone Exams.
District of residence The school district where the student's parent/guardian resides.
Educating school This is the school where the student attends and receives all or a majority of his/her educational services. This term can include a charter or cyber
charter school.
Full Academic Year This applies to student enrollment from Oct. 1 until the end of the testing window for state assessments.
Homebound instruction
A school district, area vocational technical school, charter school, or independent school may temporarily excuse a student from compulsory
attendance on account of illness or other urgent reasons and provide that student homebound instruction while he or she is excused from school.
