Dear Friends,

Welcome to the 12th season of magnificent programs at the Adrienne Arsht Center! In just over a decade, we have welcomed 4 million guests to downtown Miami to enjoy, as one community, the best of the live performing arts – and we’re confident your options are spectacular.

Our vibrant offerings are intended to make the Arsht Center the cultural heartbeat of Miami. We have planned a majestic and wildly diverse array of performances for our 2017-2018 season – curated especially for Miami. Here are a few of the highlights. You’ll find dozens more inside this brochure.

• The first national tour of the hit Broadway musical On Your Feet!, the made-in-Miami story of global superstars Emilio and Gloria Estefan, will celebrate its grand opening at the Arsht Center this October.

• The world’s biggest festival of hip-hop dance – Breakin’ Convention Miami – spills off the stage and takes over the Arsht Center campus with world-champion dance crews, DJ sessions and free family-friendly activities.

• Jazz Roots celebrates 10 years with a legendary lineup featuring Jon Batiste, George Benson, Ramsey Lewis, Gregory Porter and more!

• Our Knight Masterworks Classical Music season is pure musical bliss – opening with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra led by Zubin Mehta and concluding with Yo-Yo Ma’s glorious Silk Road Ensemble.

• Florida Grand Opera invites audiences on a dramatic journey with some of the most notable women in opera; Miami City Ballet performs Balanchine’s full-length masterpiece Jewels, for the first time in 10 years; and New World Symphony celebrates 30 years with Brahms, Beethoven and Strauss.

• Ballet Nacional de España, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Decadancetheatre’s Hip Hop Nutcracker and L.A. Dance Project are among the stunning dance ensembles taking the stage.

• In the intimate setting of the Carnival Studio Theater, we’ll welcome the South Florida premiere of Tony Award winner Fun Home, the world premiere of a dark comedy by a Carbonell Award winner Christopher Demos Brown and the festive Winter Shorts.

• As wildly diverse as Miami itself, our Live at Knight series will feature comedian John Mulaney, rock band YES and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ accompanied by live orchestra, plus much more.

Keep an eye on our website for exciting new announcements of talent from around the world performing on our stage. And, finally, remember that you can make it a night out at the Arsht Center by pairing a show with a terrific dinner on-site at Brava by Brad Kilgore or the Café at Books & Books.
