• Provide a summary of the project history / background and project process

• Share the findings to date and provide an opportunity for public review of the work that has been completed to date

Part 1 – Concep t Design and Costing for: • Background information collection and

analysis• Proposed pedestrian bridge crossing

• East and west bridge landing area to facilitate circulation to and from the new bridge

• Upgrades to east and west walkway area, focusing on safety, accessibility, and aesthetic improvements

• Conclusion February, 2016

Part 2 – Detailed Design and Implementation

• Detailed design and tendering is planned for winter/spring 2016

• Construction is planned for summer/fall 2016

• Enhances the natural riverscape aesthetic quality

from bridge as sculptural art in the landscape areas

• Identification of locations for permanent and/or temporary art installations

Decorative Landscape Plantings • Low growing for visibility

• Low maintenance

• Shrub/perennial mix

• Match design of those installed in previous ‘Back to the River’ projects

Existing Pier, Footings & Flood Walls • New bridge will utilize the existing

pier (new section will be added to increase height).

• New abutments built at bridge ends (allow for new bridge height to be above existing flood wall)
