2016 Summer ProgramsCoED yTlC SuMMER S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M CAMPSessions: May 31 - July 29, 2016Hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PMContact: youthtechnologylc.com 678.517.3500Youth Technology Learning Center (YTLC) is presenting this unique camp. This camp is separated into three age groups including Kids’ Camp for ages three to six, Junior Camp for ages six to nine, and Advanced High Tech for ages nine and up. The camps include three S.T.E.A.M. classes; LEGO Early Simple Machines or LEGO Robotics, according to age; Kids Computer Science Coding for all ages; 2D/3D Stop Animation Motion Movie Making Class; or Video Game Coding and Programming Class, according to age. Also offered is YTLC MineCraft Camp for ages nine and up. Campers will learn coding and programming to create a MineCraft World and Characters. Students must bring in their own MineCraft enabled device. NEW – Drone Classes – call for details.

This year’s Art Camp theme is travel. Students will explore the art of creating memories from their travel experiences using the mediums of drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and mixed media. Come join the adventure! Minimum number of students is four. Maximum is ten.

READING WoRkSHoPSessions: May 31 - June 3, 2016 June 6 - 9, 2016Hours: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM (Rising 4th - 8th graders) 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Rising 9th-12th graders)Tuition: $120/weekContact: Dr. Nancy Wadel, 678.250.5111 [email protected] skills-based course supports the development of fundamental reading comprehension and critical thinking strategies. Students practice before, during, and after-reading techniques in order to sharpen the skills needed to read confidently and analytically. Techniques emphasized include metacognition, self-monitoring comprehension, and graphic and semantic organizers. As a springboard to the 2016-2017 academic school year, the Summer Reading Workshop offers the tools for students to become sharper and more organized readers of grade-level texts in preparation for the Fall.
