Forever PlaidApril 13 – May 22 Written & Originally Directed and Choreographed by Stuart RossProduced by special arrangement with Music Theatre InternationalA deliciously fun revue, chock-full of classic barbershop harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies! Forever Plaid is an affectionate musical homage to the close-harmony ‘guy groups’ that reached the height of their popularity during the 1950s. The story revolves around four guys who discover they share a love for music, and then get together to become their idols – The Four Freshman, The Hi-Lo’s and The Crew Cuts. Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge’s family’s plumbing supply company, they become Forever Plaid. Originally produced on the Joseph Stein Stage in 2006, Forever Plaid is a guaranteed smash with its program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950’s, including “Three Coins in a Fountain,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Chain Gang,” “Heart and Soul,” and “Rags to Riches.”

Plain and FancyMay 25 - October 15Book by Joseph Stein and Will Glickman, Music by Albert Hague, Lyrics by Arnold HorwitzProduced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.Our 30th Anniversary Christens Indiana’s Bicentennial!A New Yorker and his sophisticated girlfriend drive down around Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to sell a piece of property. Here they meet Amish folk, whose convoluted English speech, clothes and habits haven’t changed for centuries. The clash of cultures educates and entertains at the same time in this quaint musical comedy. This 2016 production marks the 30th anniversary year that The Round Barn Theatre has produced Plain and Fancy making it one of the longest running shows anywhere.

All Shook UpJune 7 – July 17Book by Joe DipietroProduced by special arrangement with Theatrical Rights WorldwideInspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley! Teaming up Will and Elvis is like...well no other duo. Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, the story takes place in 1955, when into a square little town, in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets. This hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes and dancin’ in the aisles with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

Crazy for YouJuly 26 – August 28Music & Lyrics by George Gershwin & Ira Gershwin, Book by Ken LudwigCo-Conception by Ken Ludwig & Mike Ockrent, Inspired by Material by Guy Bolton & John McGowanProduced by special arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.A High Energy Comedy With Mistaken Identity, Plot Twists, Fabulous Dance Numbers & Classic Gershwin Music! After falling in love with the local postmistress, he decides to put on a show to save the theatre. Crazy for You opened on Broadway in 1992, and ran for 1,622 performances, on its way to winning the 1992 Tony Award for Best Musical. It features some of the Gershwin’s most prolific hits, including “I Got Rhythm,” “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” “Embraceable You,” and “Someone To Watch Over Me.” Fiddler on the RoofSeptember 6 – October 16Book by Joseph Stein, Music by Jerry Bock, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, Based on Sholem Aleichem’s “Tevye, the Dairyman” by special permission of Arnold PerlProduced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.Back by Popular Demand, The Musical Theatre “Tradition,” Fiddler on the Roof returns to the Joseph Stein Stage! Winner of 9 Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, Fiddler on the Roof is the brainchild of Broadway legends Jerome Robbins, Harold Prince, Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick, and of course, Joseph Stein. Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show is a staple of the musical theatre canon, and features such iconic and beloved songs as “Sunrise, Sunset,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker”. The 2016 production will mark the fourth time The Round Barn Theatre has visited this story with past productions featuring Jerry O’Boyle, Robert Geils and Jeremy Littlejohn in the archetypal role of Tevye.

The Miracle WorkerOctober 19 – November 6by William GibsonProduced by special arrangement with Samuel French“Interesting, Absorbing and Moving.” – The New York Post Immortalized onstage and screen by Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke, this classic tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. The Miracle Worker dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence. The play premiered on Broadway in 1959, and ran for over 700 performances on its way to four Tony Awards, including Best Play, Direction (Arthur Penn), Actress (Bancroft), and Stage Technician (John Walters).
