PORTLAND WORKFORCE ALLIANCEThe PORTLAND WORKFORCE ALLIANCE is an independent nonprofit that sees young people as the key to our region’s long-term economic prosperity and quality of life. We work with local employers to educate students about college-and-career opportunities as part of a strategy to boost Oregon’s graduation rate and build a resilient, prosperous and well-educated workforce.
The NW YOUTH CAREERS EXPO, now in its 12th year, is one way PWA connects high schools to businesses. We also provide career days, mentorship programs and classroom presentations that:• EDUCATE students about career opportunities and the skills
and education needed to be successful;• MOTIVATE students to continue their education after
high school and make informed, inspired choices about their future; and
• HELP employers meet their future workforce needs. Thank you to our sponsors, exhibitors and high schools for making this 12th annual NW YOUTH CAREERS EXPO a success. Connect with us to continue your involvement throughout the year.

Our Mission: The Portland Workforce Alliance builds enduring partnerships between
local businesses and Portland metro high schools. By providing students with
real-life work experiences and career-learning
opportunities, we enrich their academic knowledge, inspire
them to graduate and help them make informed
choices after high school and college. PWA paves the way
for young people to find good careers and contribute to the economic vitality of
our region.
BIG DREAMS. GOOD JOBS. ALL STUDENTS.
We’re not what you’d expect. When it comes to your future career, the Port of Portland offers a world of possibilities. Whether you have a passion for designing structures, a knack for public speaking, or a desire to protect and serve – the Port might be looking for someone like you. Stop by our booth and learn more
about all the jobs the Port has to offer.

MOCK INTERVIEWSAbout 150 volunteers from the world of human resources management offer one-on-one mock interviews for students at the Expo. These industry professionals work with students and offer positive, constructive feedback that will help students shine in future interviews for jobs or college admission. Tip 1: Bring your resume for review. Tip 2: If lines are long or you don’t have a resume, try a nearby mini-session on
resume-writing or job interviewing.
MINI-SESSIONS: RESUME-WRITING AND INTERVIEWINGMini-sessions on resume-writing and job interviewing will take place every half hour near the mock interview area. Students are welcome to drop in as space permits.
DEMAND IS HIGH. Priority is given to schools that signed up their students prior to the Expo.
