Who are Craftex?

Craftex is a brand of Floortex, a Global leader at the forefront of innovation.

In 2015, Floortex won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise - the UK’s highest accolade for business success and International trade.

Why crafting products?

The main product focus for Floortex, is PVC and polycarbonate surface protection.

Early in 2015, our new product development team made up of sales, marketing and personnel from our Belfast manufacturing facility, designed a low density, plastic board that delivers the features crafters would respond to, namely a rigid substrate that could be easily cut, die cut or embossed and that would hold its shape when heat formed.

The crafting market was $30.3 billion in 2011 and of that general, paper and memory crafts represented over $13.2 billion.

87% of scrapbooking / card making / paper crafting purchases occur through traditional bricks and mortar retailers.

Consumers of crafting products are less price sensitive than others stating that saving money or that it is less expensive than other pastimes was their least important reason for crafting.

Key insights

The research has revealed that 32% of crafters have been crafting for 21 years or more and spend significantly more than those crafting less than one year.

With most of that target already owning an embossing/die-cutting machine it makes this huge crafting market segment even more susceptible to buying a new crafting material.
