2016 Coleman Greig Challenge - Corporate for Community
Corporate for Community
The Coleman Greig Challenge is an opportunity for businesses to give back to the local community by supporting organisations making a difference to the lives of children and families in Western Sydney.
Businesses from around the region will come together on Friday, 21 October 2016 to participate in the Coleman Greig Challenge which comprises either a walk, run or cycle in beautiful Parramatta Park. It’s an opportunity to get fit, have fun and give back - all in one morning.
At the conclusion of the various events, participants will be treated to a celebratory breakfast at Old Government House to share their achievements and help in reaching our fundraising goal of $150,000 for children with special needs.
How does my business benefit from being involved?
Give back to the community
The Coleman Greig Challenge makes it easy for the business community to join forces and make the most of their resources to give back to the local community. In just one morning you can make an enormous difference to the lives of children with special needs and newborn care with all funds raised donated to our worthy fundraising partners.
Raise your profile in Western Sydney
Participating in the Coleman Greig Challenge doesn’t just give you a chance to contribute to the wider good but to build and strengthen your own networks. Promote your participation to staff, clients, corporate partners and the wider community. Your business will be in the company of other Western Sydney organisations with similar values and objectives, providing a great opportunity to raise your profile.
Promote health and fitness in your workplace
Treat the Coleman Greig Challenge as a team bonding exercise for staff - participants only need to choose in one of the event options so it’s a good way to get a range of staff working together to represent you on the day.
The workplace can be a stressful environment at the best of times and as we all know, exercise is a great stress reliever – plus being active can make you and your staff more productive in the workplace. The Coleman Greig Challenge is a great incentive to get fit and healthy so grab your colleagues and start training now!

2016 Coleman Greig Challenge - Corporate for Community
An annual event, the Coleman Greig GWS Executive Challenge began in 2013 with the aim of providing the corporate sector with a quick, easy and powerful way to show their support for the Western Sydney community.
In the past three years the event has raised over $200,000 for charities, allowing many in the corporate sector to give back in a way that suits the needs of their business.
In 2015, to better reflect the event purpose and commitment of participants to giving back, we renamed the event the ‘Coleman Greig Challenge: Corporate for Community’.
Our fundraising partners
In 2015 we supported St. Gabriel’s School and the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children. In 2016 we are pleased to welcome a third charity, My Westmead.
St. Gabriel’s School for Children with Special Needs
St. Gabriel’s School is a co-educational primary school catering for children with hearing impairment and other special needs such as intellectual disability in the mild to moderate range, and autism. For more information visit www.stgabriels.nsw.edu.au
Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children
The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) is Australia’s largest non-government provider of education, therapy and cochlear implant services for children with vision or hearing loss, their families, and the professionals who support them. Each year, thousands of Australians benefit from RIDBC’s broad range of services. For more information visit www.ridbc.org.au
My Westmead
My Westmead raises urgently needed funds for health care and research at Westmead. We believe everyone who is sick deserves access to the best possible treatment and care. Generous donations are directed to state of the art medical equipment, life-saving research and enhanced services at Westmead Hospital and The Westmead Institute for Medical Research.
Funds raised from The Coleman Greig Challenge will support newborn care. With more than 5,200 babies born at the Hospital annually, your support means our newest members of the community receive the best possible start to life.

The 2016 Coleman Greig Challenge options
3
With walk, run and cycle options available, there’s something for everyone on offer in this year’s event. Importantly, participants only need to compete in one of the six event options below so you can focus on your strengths and what you enjoy.
Gather with fellow participants in the allocated start area in Parramatta Park before indulging in some friendly competition in your chosen event option. Carry the spirit of good sportsmanship to the post-event breakfast where you can network and share your event achievements.
Let’s make the 2016 Coleman Greig Challenge the biggest and best yet!
2.5km Walk in the Park (approx)
Our Walk in the Park is a great option for participants who prefer a gentle start to the day. Get involved, have fun and raise funds – no sweat.
5km Run (approx)
Start your Friday morning by giving back to the community with an invigorating 5km run through Parramatta Park – a great option for those who want a challenge that’s achievable but will still test your stamina!
10km Run (approx)
Showcase your athletic prowess and challenge yourself with the more ambitious 10km option – a breeze for the serious athletes amongst us.
C Grade Cycle
If you focus on enjoyment over winning, or have a good fitness base but you’re new to the world of racing, the C Grade Cycle ticks all the boxes for a stress free ride. No competitive cycling experience is needed.
B Grade Cycle
Work up an appetite for breakfast with the B Grade Cycle option. The B Grade Cycle is for cyclists with competition experience who ride at a pace of less than 35km an hour.
A Grade Cycle
Test your stamina with the fast-paced A Grade Cycle – ideal for experienced competitors who ride at a pace of 35-45km an hour.

2016 Coleman Greig Challenge - Corporate for Community
How does the fundraising work?
Sponsorship opportunities
Your business can participate in the Coleman Greig Challenge through a Platinum or Gold Sponsorship. The fees you pay for sponsorship all contribute to the fundraising for our charity partners. In addition, your organisation will be recognised alongside other high profile organisations for your role in giving back to the community.
Limited Platinum and Gold Sponsorship Packages are available so don’t miss out!
Enter a Corporate Team
Your business can participate in the Coleman Greig Challenge this year by entering a team of four staff to represent you on the day, including breakfast following the race.
Individual entries
If you’re a small business, there’s no reason for you to miss out. Individual entries are accepted so you can represent your business on the day and give back to the community in a meaningful and tangible way.
Participant fundraising
You and your staff can make an even bigger impact for children with special needs and newborn care - every participant in the Coleman Greig Challenge is able do their own personal fundraising. Participants can set individual fundraising objectives and goals to promote their involvement and reach out to their own network of contacts to support them. This is a great way to raise funds for our charities and share your sporting abilities and efforts with your networks.
The organisation that raises the most funds will be awarded the ‘Coleman Greig Challenge Award’ to display in their workplace.
Celebratory breakfast
Join us for breakfast and celebrate your event achievements at Old Government House in Parramatta Park.
Participants are encouraged to attend to enjoy a delicious (and well-earned!) breakfast, celebrate everyone’s involvement, congratulate award winners and, of course, raise vital funds for our charity partners.
