That game marked Carey Green’s 300th career win, while Avery Warley broke the Big South career rebounding record.

Spreading the Wealth Nene Johnson scored a team-high 13 points at Campbell on Tuesday, becoming the Lady Flames’ eighth different leading scorer in the first nine Big South games. The Lady Flames’ other leading scorers in conference play have been Lela Sellers (at CSU), Keyen Green (vs. HPU), Iva Ilic (vs. PC, at Asheville), KK Barbour (at GWU), She-ana Vega (vs. Longwood), Audrey Rettstatt (at Radford) and Ola Makurat (vs. Winthrop).

Block Party Liberty has blocked 32 shots in its last four games, moving the Lady Flames to the top of the Big South Conference and No. 50 nationally with 4.7 bpg on the season. Liberty has not averaged as many as 4.7 bpg for a season since 2011-12.

A Look Back at the Lady Flames’ 58-52 Win at Campbell on Tuesday• Liberty closed out the first half of its Big South Conference schedule in impressive fash-ion, Tuesday at Gore Arena. The Lady Flames pulled out a gritty 58-52 victory over Big South co-leader Campbell, halting the Camels’ five-game winning streak.

• Campbell led 46-42 with 4:29 remaining before Liberty took the lead for good with a 7-0 run, punctuated by five straight KK Barbour points. Tatyana Crowder added a back-breaking triple from the corner with 57.1 seconds left and the Lady Flames were 6-of-6 from the foul line down the stretch.

• Nene Johnson paced the Lady Flames’ balanced attack with 13 points, becoming Lib-erty’s eighth different leading scorer in the first nine conference games.

New Year’s Resolution After averaging 54.9 ppg on 32.5 percent from the field and 24.5 percent from three-point range in 11 2016 contests, the Lady Flames have exploded for 73.8 ppg on 43.8 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc in 2017’s first nine outings.

What Can Green Do For You? Keyen Green headlines the Lady Flames’ successful freshman class. The Big South Freshman of the Week on Dec. 5, Jan. 2, Jan. 9 and Jan. 16, Green leads the conference and ranks No. 1 among the nation’s freshmen in rebounding at 8.6 rpg. In her last 15 games, Green has recorded six double-doubles and three 20-point out-ings. She is the first Lady Flame since Reagan Miller in 2011-12 to win three straight Big South Freshman of the Week honors and four in one season.

Fantastic Freshmen Liberty’s seven freshmen have combined to score 59.7 percent of the team’s points this season, led by Keyen Green’s team-high 11.7 ppg. Four of the team’s top five scorers on the year are freshmen.

Unfamiliar Role Liberty was picked fourth in the Big South preseason poll, as voted upon by the con-ference’s head coaches. This is the first time since 1996-97 (seventh place) that the Lady Flames have been listed outside the top two in the preseason poll. The 1996-97 Lady Flames went on to capture the first Big South championship in program history.

Big Shoes to Fill Five seniors graduated from last year’s team, including Katelyn Adams, Sadalia El-lis, Jaymee Fisher-Davis, Catherine Kearney and Ashley Rininger. Adams, Kearney and Rininger each stand 6-4 or taller.

• The Lady Flames won 117 games in five years (Katelyn Adams, Catherine Kearney and Ashley Rininger’s time on campus), including three Big South titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

• The Lady Flames’ five seniors totaled 4,260 career points and 2,829 career rebounds.

• In total, Liberty lost 90.6 percent of its scoring from the 2015-16 season.

One of a Kind Audrey Rettstatt is the lone senior on the Lady Flames’ 2016-17 roster. This is the second time in four seasons that Liberty has had only one senior. Jasmine Gardner was the team’s lone senior in 2013-14.

International Flavor This year’s roster includes two foreign-born freshmen, including Iva Ilic (Croatia) and Ola Makurat (Poland). They are Liberty’s first international players since Jelena Antic of Macedonia wrapped up her time with the Lady Flames in 2010-11.
