• Both Liberty and Lipscomb are trying to get back on the right track. The Lady Flames have lost two of their last three games, while Lipscomb heads to Lynchburg coming off back-to-back home losses.

• Liberty and Lipscomb have each lost to ASUN co-leaders FGCU (on the road) and North Alabama (at home) during their fi rst four conference games.

• Liberty's top four scorers this season are juniors. Mean-while, Lipscomb's top four scorers include a sophomore and two freshmen.

• Lipscomb is under the direction of fi rst-year head coach Lauren Sumski, who is only 27 years old. Conversely, 63-year-old Carey Green is in his 21st year at the helm of the Lady Flames.

• Rebounding will be a key stat to watch. Liberty ranks No. 2 in the ASUN with a +5.8 rebound margin, while Lipscomb is last in the conference at -5.8. Last season, the Lady Flames were +20 and +14 in rebounding during their two wins over Lipscomb.

• Meanwhile, Lipscomb could have an advantage at the foul line. The Bisons rank No. 3 nationally for free throw per-centage (79.9), while the Lady Flames sit No. 301 at 62.2 percent.

• Liberty's Emily Lytle scored the game's fi rst 13 points, giv-ing the Lady Flames a lead they never relinquished. Lytle posted a program single-quarter record 16 of her 24 points during the opening period and fi nished the contest with fi ve three-pointers.

• The Lady Flames dished out 23 assists on 25 made baskets and shot 50 percent (10-of-20) from three-point range. The win was No. 450 of Carey Green's head coaching career.

• Keely Morrow hit four triples and scored 22 points for the Bisons. However, Liberty came up with 17 steals and held Lipscomb to 37 percent (17-of-46) from the fi eld.

A LIBERTY WIN WOULD ...

• Mark the Lady Flames' ninth victory in their last 12 games, following their 1-5 start to the season.

• Put the Lady Flames into sole possession of third place in the ASUN Conference standings.

• Improve the Lady Flames' all-time record against Lipscomb to 4-0.

• Boost the team's record when playing on Saturday to 5-1, giving the Lady Flames half of their 10 wins this season on Saturdays.

• After Saturday, Liberty only has fi ve home games remaining on the regular-season schedule for its 30th and fi nal season at the Vines Center.

• Despite its 2-4 record in home games thus far in 2019-20, Liberty has won 79 percent of its home games at the Vines Center all-time, including 83 percent under Carey Green.

• A crowd of 1,893 fans att ended the Nov. 8 home opener against ETSU. That was the Lady Flames' largest home crowd since 3,741 fans watched Liberty host Duke on Nov. 11, 2016.

FUN FACTS FROM MONDAY'S OT LOSS

• Monday's contest was the Lady Flames' fi rst overtime game since an 85-75 overtime triumph at Jacksonville on Jan. 26, 2019. It was also their fi rst overtime game at home since a 76-75 victory over Saint Joseph's on Nov. 22, 2014.

• It marked the Lady Flames' fi rst loss when scoring 70 points since an 81-76 overtime setback at Bethune-Cook-man during the 2018-19 season opener. Liberty had won 10 straight games when reaching the 70-point mark.

• One game after shooting 9-of-20 from the foul line, Keyen Green hit 8-of-10 free throws. Her two foul shots with 2.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter sent the contest to overtime.

• Liberty posted a 15-3 run during the fi nal 2:37 of regulation to force overtime. Bridgett e Rett statt scored seven of her season-high 17 points during that span.

2: The 2019-20 season marks Liberty's second year as ASUN Conference members. The Lady Flames spent the previous 27 seasons (1991-92 through 2017-18) in the Big South Conference, winning 16 regular-sea-son titles and 17 tournament championships.

3: Three former Lady Flames have gone on to play in the WNBA, including Katie (Feenstra) Matt era, Me-gan (Frazee) Leuzinger and Avery Warley-Talbert.

6: Carey Green is the sixth head coach in program history. He is the winningest coach all-time for the Lady Flames.

LADY FLAMES BY THE NUMBERS WELCOME BACKLiberty returns its top three scorers from last season in Emily Lytle, Bridgett e Rett statt and Kierra John-son-Graham. In total, 63.7 percent of the Lady Flames' scoring returns from the 2018-19 campaign.

WELCOME BACK, PART 2Keyen Green has returned to the court in 2019-20 af-ter missing the entire 2018-19 season due to an ankle injury. When she took the court at Norfolk State on Nov. 5, it marked her fi rst game action in 599 days, since an NCAA Tournament contest at Tennessee on March 16, 2018.

Prior to her injury, Green was the Big South Freshman of the Year in 2017 and the Big South Player of the Year in 2018.

JUMPIN' JUNIORSLed by Emily Lytle (12.4 ppg) and Bridgett e Rett statt (11.0 ppg), the members of this year's junior class scored 45.1 percent of the Lady Flames' total points in 2018-19.

The Lady Flames' junior class has scored 68.4 percent of the team's points in 2019-20 and the team's top four scorers are all juniors.

RULERS OF THE REBOUNDSLiberty has ranked among the nation’s top 20 teams for rebound margin in each of the last 17 seasons, leading the country on six occasions (2003-04, 2004-05, 2009-10, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14). The Lady Flames ranked No. 18 nationally in 2018-19 and are listed No. 57 thus far in 2019-20.

RULERS OF THE REBOUNDS, PART 2Liberty has won the rebounding batt le in 14 of 17 con-tests this season. They had outrebounded six straight opponents prior to Jan. 6 at FGCU.

COACHING CONTINUITYCarey Green is in his 21st season as Liberty's head coach, and two of his assistants (Alexis She-rard and Andrea "Andy" Bloodworth) have each been part of his staff for the last 13 seasons.

Liberty is one of only fi ve NCAA Division I teams who have had the same head coach for the last 20+ years and two of the same assistant coaches for the last 10+ years, joining UConn, Villanova, Iowa State and Alabama State.

UNBEATEN DECEMBERLiberty fi nished 5-0 during the month of Decem-ber, marking its fi rst unbeaten December since the 1997-98 season. It was the Lady Flames' fi rst un-beaten month since going 8-0 during February 2015.

From the Vines Center to Liberty Arena

The 2019-20 season will be the Lady Flames' 30th and fi nal season at the Vines Center, with the Liberty men's and women's basketball teams slated to move next door to the brand-new Liberty Arena in time for the 2020-21 campaign.

The Lady Flames played their fi rst game in the Vines Center on Dec. 7, 1990 and began playing at the facility full-time during the 1992-93 season.

The 125,000-square foot Liberty Arena will seat 4,000 spectators and will serve as the home for the Flames' men's basketball, wom-en's basketball and volleyball teams.

The Vines Center will continue to be used for convocation services, concerts and other events.
