. Conditions of Entry & Class Definitions This show will be conducted under the rules & regulations of the current Arabian Horse Society of Australia Limited Rule

Book, a copy of which is available at the show office or at www.ahsa.asn.au

Entrants in the Young Horse Classes must be 3 or 4 years of age & ridden in a snaffle bit ONLY

All Ridden horses, except those eligible for the Young Horse Classes, must be 4 years of age & over.

Age of rider/handler is on the day of the show

Age of horse will be taken as at 1st August

Colts/Stallions are not permitted to be led, ridden or driven by any persons under the age of 18 years

Stallions are only permitted to compete in classes where indicated

To compete in Crabbet classes you must pre enter your horse/s & provide Crabbet percentage certificate

Crabbet Percentage Certificates are available for $10 from NSW CAPA

Definitions:- Pure Crabbet – 100% Crabbet

Crabbet Related Purebred – 50% + Crabbet

Crabbet Related Derivative – 25% + Crabbet

(Pure Crabbet horses are not eligible to compete in Crabbet Related Purebred (50%+) classes)

Closing date for entries for is Friday 27th February 2015 – No late entries or email entries will be accepted

No refunds will be given after the closing date INCLUDING any cancelled stabling or camping

Any persons that have monies outstanding from previous shows are required to finalise these amounts before

further entries will be accepted. All outstanding monies must be cleared before further entries will be accepted

Ribbons will be to 3rd place (where applicable) and the Judge’s decision is final.

Where sponsored prizes/trophies are applicable, failure to collect these awards on the day of the show may

result in those awards being forfeited

All protests must be lodged in writing with the show secretary at the office within 30 minutes of the event and

accompanied by $50.00 cash.

The NSW CAPA accepts no responsibility should an accident, injury or damage to any spectators, competitors,

goods, property, pedestrians or vehicles occur. You are fully responsible for yourself, your horse and its actions.

Approved safety helmets must be worn at all times when riding horses

The show committee shall have the power without assigning any reason to issue a warning and/or excuse a

competitor from the ring due to excessive use of whips, spurs, bits or due to any horse not being under proper

control. Any competitor whose conduct is considered to be ill mannered, aggressive or unsportsmanlike will be

issued a warning and may be asked to leave the ring.

To Show a Purebred Arabian or an Arabian Derivative Stallion, Mare or Gelding, the owner must be a financial

member of AHSA, entries will not be accepted without a copy of your current membership card.

An “AHSA Condition of Entry Declaration Form” must be completed by current financial members of the

NSWCAPA Inc, the Arabian Horse Society of Australia or a recognised affiliate of the Arabian Horse Society of

Australia prior to purchasing tickets however no insurance levy is payable

AHSA has advised that PROFESSIONAL handlers/riders need to pay an additional $30 per day insurance to

compete at Arabian shows. If the “Professional” is a member of EA, the insurance provided by EA is sufficient

to cover exhibiting at our shows. 2015 MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED WITH ENTRIES

Wristbands MUST be worn by all persons handling a horse. Any person not wearing a wristband will not be able

to enter marshalling or ring area. Wristband checks will be carried throughout the day on all parts of the

showground.

Class Definitions

Novice – Horse/rider not having won a 1st place in similar event. MUST be shown in a snaffle bit ONLY .

Intermediate - is a horse which has not won a first place at Intermediate or Open level or a Championship Broodmares - is a mare which has a foal at foot or has delivered a foal registered by the Society in the previous 2 years

or a Pregnancy Certificate to foal in the next breeding season. If exhibiting a Brood Mare with foal at foot, said foal must

be led by a competent handler - NOT running free next to their dam

Costume - AHSA Ltd Rules apply as per rule 25 of the AHSA 2012 Rule Book. To be judged 50% for costume and 50%

horse’s manners and paces. Trappings must not hang below the knees or hocks of the horse. All youth competitors in

costume MUST wear approved safety helmets and boots with their costumes.

Western Pleasure - To be judged 70% on performance & manners, 30% on conformation, quality and presentation.

Horses will be shown both ways on the ring at the walk, jog & lope on a reasonably loose rein. Individual workouts are

not required. Refer to Rule 26.1 of the AHSA 2012 Rule Book

NSW CAPA member classes, rider must be a current financial member of the NSW Crabbet Arabian Performance

Association Inc.

Double Registered classes: : Registration Certificates of BOTH breed registries must be produced/submitted prior to

purchasing tickets.

Show Hunter Classes: Horses competing in this section may also compete in other sections of the show.

Non Pro - A non-pro is one who, regardless of his/her equestrian skills and/or accomplishments, in the past three years

has not directly or indirectly accepted as payment, goods or money for services usually provided by a professional in the

areas of breaking, riding, training, schooling, driving, halter preparation, showing in halter or under saddle.
