Annually, in the month of July, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) leads the wholenation in the celebration of 2015 Nutrition Month, urosely to disseminate nutrition

messa!es to all "iliinos throu!h a focal theme# "or 2015, the theme is $%imban! &wasto, 'a

%aman! Nutrisyon at hersisyo# %he celebration aims to increase awareness on the role and

imortance of roer nutrition and hysical acti*ity in the re*ention of bein! o*erwei!ht

and obese amon! the !eneral ublic+ encoura!e "iliinos to mae ositi*e decisions towards

consumtion of healthy diets and be hysically acti*e to re*ent non-communicable diseases

as a result of bein! o*erwei!ht and obese+ and encoura!e communities, national and local

!o*ernments, non-!o*ernment or!ani.ations, ri*ate sector, media, the academe, and other 

staeholders to ut in lace an enablin! en*ironment, which romotes roer nutrition and

 hysical acti*ity amon! "iliinos to re*ent bein! o*erwei!ht and obese##

&n suort of this de*elomental endea*or of the nutrition community to be

searheaded by the NNC, the /eartment of ducation (/ed) enoins all schools to

 articiate in this celebration by undertain! meanin!ful acti*ities which will hi!hli!ht the

imortance of !ood health and nutrition#

&n comliance, ol Central 'chool which is headed by /r# Annalyn 'alcedo and her 

e*er suorti*e Nutrition Coordinator to!ether with the other teachers conducted a half day

 ro!ram last July 1,, 2015, "riday, to broaden the nowled!e of the arents and mae them

aware of the ne!ati*e effects of o*erwei!ht and obesity#

3e also articiated in the municial culmination of nutrition month sonsored by the

Municial 4ealth ffice of ol# 3e ha*e rade 6 articiants for the essay writin! and

drawin! contests and we !arnered the first ri.e in the essay writin! contest##
