Greetings!
“Connecting Relationships, Building Bridges, Gaining Wins”
The theme of this year’s Business Opportunity Fair, not only highlights the exciting changes taking place in our Council, it also exemplifies the energizing economic renaissance of an entire region not experienced in more than 50 years.
Relationships (Connecting) facilitated and nurtured by EMSDC position minority businesses and corporate partners to capitalize on these changes by working together (Building). The work that MBEs and corporations/institutions do together, form the basis of sustained economic growth (Gaining) in the community, region and beyond. Your participation at the Fair today may be your entry into forming new relationships as markets shift and new opportunities present themselves. We encourage you to put your business development hats on today and go to work for your business.
In all things and in all ways the EMSDC is committed to connecting businesses to opportunities for the purpose of creating sustainable economies. We are your Council and we are here to serve. Together we move our communities forward, creating legacies of innovation, leadership, empowerment and wealth.
Yours in Business Success!

Greetings:
I bring you greetings from the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council. The four pillars of the council are: Certify. Develop. Connect. Advocate. The Opportunity Fair is an example of how we “Connect”. The council’s mission is Advancing business opportunities by certifying and connecting minority business enterprises to corporations and buying entities.
Today’s event marks 39 years of connecting MBEs with public agencies and corporations at our Opportunity Fair in the Western region of Pennsylvania. Be sure to visit each booth and increase your chances of connecting with a new customer or winning a gift card.
I would like to thank the staff, board of directors, committee members, our sponsors, our members, our MBEs and all of the volunteers for making today possible.
Good selling and good buying!
Thank you,
Alexander Nichols, Jr.Chief Operating OfficerEMSDC
Broader business participation expands opportunities for everyone
We believe that greater diversity among our
suppliers and business partners helps our agency
perform better. This approach provides new ideas from
various community perspectives that better reflect the
populations we serve. Plus it ensures the economic
stimulus from our purchases will be spread broadly
across Pennsylvania communities. We invite you to
consider PHFA as a potential business partner.
