cannotpurchasereligiousbasedbooks.However,thesearefundsrelieduponasthecostoftextbooksisexorbitant.ACSreceived$27,000forthe2015-2016schoolyear.Thisis$55.59perstudent.Theaveragetextbookisabout$80.Thisisthelastyearwewillbereceivingthesefunds(NMSupremeCourtsdeemedthisfundingunconstitutional).Thisexpensewillnowbetakenfromourgeneraloperatingbudget.
FederalFunds:ACSreceived$20,521throughthefederalTitleIIAGrantforprofessionaldevelopment.Grants:ACSreceived$13,800fromTheWestermanFoundationforaroboticsgrant.Sennheiserdonated
$6,000worthofequipmenttoourmusicdepartment.Thisincluded50studioqualityheadphonesand1wirelessmicrophone.
Volunteers:Volunteerhoursarenotrequiredbutcertainlyappreciatedasitmakesasignificantdifferenceintheeducationofourstudents.Thereareover1428hoursdocumentedduringthe15-16schoolyear;whichsupportourclassroomteachers,library,science,computerandartprograms.Volunteersputforthnumeroushourscoaching,organizingcommunityevents,sacramentalpreparation,serviceproject,talentshowacts,communications,etc.thatwerenotdocumentedbutareappreciatedandinvaluable.Alocalcommunitycollegeassistseachyearinscreeningallofourstudents’visionandhearing–spending200+man-hours.
MoneyMakers:ACSdoesnotconductanymandatoryfundraising.However,thereareafeweventsfromwhichourstudentsareabletobenefitfromthemoneyraised.HalloweenHappeninggenerated$8,354.51,7thannualFallBenefitgenerated$32,595.55($3,621.73fortuitionassistance),thereturnofJogAThonraisingjustover$19,000andFamilyFunNights$1,710.99.
