Demographics Summary

George H.W. Bush population is approximately 10.1% Asian, 37% White, 9.6% African American, 41.1% Hispanic, and 36.7% EconomicallyDisadvantaged. 10.5% of the students at Bush Elementary are identified as Special Education. Bush's attendance rate averaged 95%, we will continue toclosely monitor attendance. Continuous efforts will be made to monitor and improve attendance and provide interventions for the academically fragilestudents.

Bush Elmentary has seen nearly 10% jump in the Asian population on our campus. These student are also part of our ESL program.

Bush Elementary achieved the rank of Met Standard on the 2014-2015 state assessment.

After careful review of available data, the following needs were identified by the staff of Bush Elementary.

• Target all subgroups for improvement until 100% of Bush students are successful in all academic areas. Data meetings will be held once a six weeks totrack progress and focus instruction.

• Continue to align TEKS objectives. Two Grade level and two vertical collaborative meetings will be held for planning and data analysis each month.

• Teachers need to be consistent in teaching with more rigor, depth and complexity to ensure more students reach Level III.

• Identify at-risk readers as soon as possible so interventions can be planned and made using SCE funds.

• Focus will be placed on Kindergarten - 6nd grade Literacy and Fourth Grade Math & Writing.

• Provide 30 minute intervention for kindergarten – sixth grade at risk math/reading students within the school day and after school tutorials as needed.

• Improve math achievement of all students at every grade level especially 3rd grade. Implement district math initiatives including utilization of the districtmath coaches.

• Improve science achievement of all students at every grade level. Implement district science initiatives including utilization of district science coaches.

• Utilize the mobile computer lab as well as student computers for technology TEKS implementation.

Bush Elementary staff and administration are committed to the success of all students at Bush Elementary. Bush Elementary staff consistently provide asafe, positive, and secure learning and teaching environment for the promotion of student learning and character development. Bush administration and staffmembers will work collaboratively to improve the attendance rate of students and teachers. District adopted initiatives have been implemented on the Bush campus. Some of the programs have built in assessments. Student progress will bemonitored with district assessments and benchmarks as well as data from Istation Reading, Ren STAR Math, Imagine Learning, and F&P assessment data.Students will be monitored on an individual basis with attention on the academically fragile groups of African American, Economically Disadvantaged, andELL's. Technology Summary

Through the use of Title I Funds and the elementary bond, Bush and MISD has equipped all classrooms in grades K-6 with Smartboards, Projectors, anddocument cameras in an effort to provide teachers adequate technology for delivery of instruction. Learn Pads are utilized in 3-5 grade classrooms. Sixthgrade students utilize the Bring Your Own Device model. Each classroom is equipped with at least 5 student computers for individualized supplementalinstruction for students.
