Prospective on Pays de Loire 2040, a vision and 3 strategic axes For the second year, the EIGSI General Engineering School organizes in La Rochelle, France, a high quality forum focused on interregional mobility in the Atlantic Area. La Rochelle Mobility Forum is part of a 4 high quality forum cycle. Climatlantic is a project co‐funded by INTERREG IVB ATLANTIC AREA Programme,aimed at developing an Atlantic Strategic Agenda for Sustainable Urban Development and the reduction of the Carbon Footprint covering four main pillars: mobility, energy, territorial management and social behavior.TRANSCRIPT

Historical context
Today the territories face big challenges previously unseen since after the
second world war. The conjunction of two unprecedented crises (economic and
social crisis, energy and environmental crisis) calls for the emergence of new
societal choices for the 21st century.
Faced with this very particular context, of which the effects are seen to varying
degrees throughout the industrial world, the perspective becomes clearer, on a
regional scale/level to give direction to a long term strategy and to enhance
the ability to anticipate and improve the current situation.
Foresight and strategy
The Loire Valley must act to achieve :
-Future identifiable desires;
-In developing a new 10-15 years strategic plan which was adopted by the
regional council on 8th November 2013.
