Four junior reporters attended one of the many workshopsoffered during last month's Fashion Forward Festival (FFFest).They were given eye make-up tips by Karen Yiu, a make-upartist who has worked at London Fashion Week, Hong KongFashion Week, and with major brands such as L'Oreal.
Eye-catching design
Hong Kong's fashion world may not be as big as London, NewYork or Paris, but it is certainly catching up. "Hong Kong hasnever been short of hidden gems in fashion design," says EdithLaw, the chairperson of Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF).

The workshop was hosted by Karen Yiu, a graduate from theUniversity of the Arts London, who specialises in make-updesign.
She taught us how to create one of her fantastic eye designs.

Beautiful butterfly
The eye make-up design we learned from Karen Yiu was madeup of white, black, green and gold. Treating our face as acanvas, we blended the four colours together and it looked likea brilliant pair of butterfly wings.
To get the best effect, we applied the star powder first, then thegreen eye shadow, and finally the gold.

To create the look, you need
Eyebrow glue (stage make-up) and spatulaConcealerMascara wandMake-up spongeFalse eyelashesEyeshadow - a light and a dark shade; we used black andblue-greenWhite star powder/pigmentGold shimmer powderBlack gel eyelinerBrow pencil3 small brushes
Beautiful eyes in seven steps:
1 Cover your brows: apply one or two layers of eyebrow glue toyour brows using a spatula. Comb them into their natural placeusing a mascara wand. Apply concealer to cover the brows andblend with a make-up sponge.
2 Dip a small brush into the dark eyeshadow and apply a "V" tothe outer corner of the eye. Then blend the lighter shade abovethe dark "V", making sure to soften the edge.
3 With a dry brush, pat white star powder over the entire eyelidup to your crease.
4 Use a black gel eyeliner on the upper lashline to define theeyes. It's best to keep your eyes open when applying eyeliner; todo this, place the mirror on a table in front of you, look down,and tilt your head back.
5 Apply false eyelashes: it's easier if you cut the eyelashes inhalf and place on the outer corner of the eye. Don't confuse the

6 Draw brows above your own ones using the brow pencil.Then pat gold shimmer powder from the inner corner to themiddle of the eyelid.
