LaW SChooL feLLoWS Meeting | friDaYGeorgia’s 10 law school fellows and YLD officers are invited to a brief presentation on involvement in the YLD and internships. All YLD members are invited to meet and visit with the fellows.

CLe & LunCh | friDaYThe program will focus on issues of ethics and professionalism in law practice. The first hour will be devoted to the ethics of social media in law practice. In this interactive presentation, participants will learn from hypothetical and real life social media situations with ethical implications that may be challenging for lawyers to navigate. The second hour will be devoted to professionalism. Participants will learn about what clients expect from us as their lawyers and how we can use that information to make the most of our relationships with clients, positively impact our profession’s reputation and grow our own legal practices.This CLE will also be part of the 5th session of the 2014 YLD Leadership Academy program.One hour of ethics and one hour of professionalism credit requested.Speakers will include:Jenny Mittelman, Deputy General Counsel, State Bar of GeorgiaNicole Iannarone, Assistant Clinical Professor, Georgia State University College of Law

naSCar aLL-Star raCe | SaturDaYThe stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series do battle on stock car racing’s all-star night on May 17 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the 30th running of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.The sparks will fly in this checkers or wreckers non-points event with $1 million on the line in an event that routinely delivers some of the most exciting racing of the season. From the Pass in the Grass and the Tide Slide to One Hot Night, NASCAR’s immortal moments are made here.The night also includes high stakes qualifying to set the starting lineup. A break from NASCAR’s normal qualifying rules, drivers will qualify using a timed, three-lap run that includes a mandatory four-tire pit stop and no pit road speed limit!Drivers already eligible to race in the 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race include: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie

Johnson, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, David Ragan, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Martin Truex Jr., Brian Vickers, Ryan Newman, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin and Kurt Busch.One of the hottest names in country music, RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen, will headline the All-Star Backyard Experience pre-race concert presented by Pennington Seed and Kingsford Charcoal. The YLD has secured a block of All-Star race tickets located in the outdoor Veranda seating area with access to the Speedway Club. For registered attendees, a bus will load at The Ballantyne at 1:30 p.m. to head to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Enjoy afternoon activities prior to the race. At the conclusion of the race, the bus will bring attendees back to The Ballantyne.

SChoLarShipSThe Young Lawyers Division sponsors a reimbursement program designed to encourage attendance at YLD meetings. Each reimbursement recipient will receive funding (up to $200 per meeting) for travel and expenditures. Reimbursements are awarded at the discretion of the Meetings Committee. Applicants for the reimbursement should be YLD eligible lawyers (State Bar of Georgia members under the age of 36 and/or the first five years of practice after being admitted to your first bar).
