At KIPP, we don’t measure success by test scores alone, but by the number of students who are achieving their dreams in college and beyond. With a goal that big, we need educators and staff who have the motivation, drive, compassion, and commitment to ensure that all students reach their full potential.

The mission of KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is to equip students with the academic skills, scholarly habits, and character traits necessary to be successful in top-quality colleges and the competitive world beyond. We partner with local school districts in Metro Atlanta not only to increase the number of college graduates, but also to change the mindset of what is possible in public education. We do so by investing in the growth and development of students, teachers, and school leaders. We currently operate eight schools in Metro Atlanta, including three elementary schools, four middle schools, and one high school. Additionally, the KIPP Through College program assists students on their journeys to and through college. We plan to serve more students each year as we expand to a full K-12 network.

Our schools offer a free, open-enrollment option to families looking for additional public school choices for their children. Admission is granted to students regardless of prior academic record, conduct, or socioeconomic background. If there are more interested students than space allows, a random lottery is conducted for admission.

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is part of the growing network of KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) schools across the nation with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. There are 162 KIPP schools in 20 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 58,000 students.

Donald created a catalogue of fun songs with infectious melodies for his students to understand reading comprehension skills. Now, no day is complete without scholars joyously using music to break down complex texts and the meaning of stories - singing everywhere from the playground at recess to work time in their homes. Celeste designed the “Real World Reading Rockstar Challenge” with the mission of connecting her students with other avid readers across the country. Her scholars have excitedly joined forces with booklovers nationwide to collectively read 2,022 books, a special goal since this number matches the year they will head to college.
