“Since the California roll made its way to the U.S. in the mid-1980s, the popularity of Asian food has been on the rise stateside. Today, you can find sushi everywhere from grocery stores to $1,000-a-plate fine-dining establishments. Entire sections of Whole Foods are even dedicated to Asian cuisine. ‘It’s the zeitgeist,’ said Danielle Chang, founder of Luckyrice. ‘In recent years, the understanding and appreciation for Asian culture has grown by leaps and bounds, and I think it’s due to the influence of increased trade and travel between Asia and the U.S.’ The Luckyrice Festival…features a dazzling array of chefs preparing some of the most beautiful, mouthwatering creations Asian cuisine has to offer. The Daily Feast talks to five acclaimed chefs (who have participated in LUCKYRICE) – Eric Ripert, Masaharu Morimoto, Todd English, David Chang and Ming
Tsai – about why Asian food is all the rage stateside.”

NEW YORK
“It’s hard to believe that just a few decades ago the depth of Asian culinary culture was barely
on Manhattan’s fine dining map…that obviously has all changed. There’s no better proof than the
LUCKYRICE Asian culinary food fest here in NYC.”
“On Friday night, the LUCKYRICE Asian Food Festival had its most ambitious event, the Grand Feast. At the ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Columbus Circle, guests were treated to some delicious and innovative bites from chefs like Ming Tsai, Todd English, Masaharu Morimoto, Susur Lee, and other famous chefs from around the world. It was incredible to see, smell, and taste how all these chefs took Asian cuisine to whole new levels with dishes like edamame dumplings, pig blood popsicles, and snapper with dashi and trout roe.”

“There's something you should know about LUCKYRICE Night Market. Actually, like, a lot of things: it's NYC's premier Asian food & drink fest, it debuts for the first time ever in LA on Aug 4th, and it fills a warehouse loft with all-you-can-consume street eats & elixirs from the country's top toques and liquor-ologists.”
“There was quite the turnout for the inaugural LUCKYRICE Night Market ... it brought together some of the city’s top chefs, including Susan Feniger, Bryant Ng and Sang Yoon among others, all serving really fantastic bites.”
“The success of this weekend’s night market, which sold more than 1,000 tickets, is validation for a city that, despite a large Asian population and a wave of nouveau Asian cooking, had not yet played host to such an event.”
“This is the brainchild of one of my dearest friends. She has a wildly successful food festival that sells out every year and we’ve been begging her to bring it to LA for years.”

LAS VEGAS
“Everywhere, there are people eating, drinking, laughing... the ‘inaugural’ LUCKYRICE is a delicious success...”
“We’re jazzed in particular on the LUCKYRICE Festival,
an all-Asian-cuisine event meant to mimic a night
market, but markedly more bourgeois, since it’ll be at
the Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool.”
“The LUCKYRICE field was stacked with Asian-food stars from New York (Dale Talde, Eddie Huang, Angelo Sosa and Pichet Ong) alongside San Francisco’s Charles Phan and LA’s Sang Yoon...”

CASE STUDY Bombay Sapphire
OBJECTIVE: Leverage the LUCKYRICE platform to effectively launch Bombay Sapphire® East into key U.S. markets and drive business amongst consumers and industry while engaging key influencers SOLUTION: As the presenting sponsor of the LUCKYRICE Festival, Bombay Sapphire was poured exclusively throughout all festival events. LUCKYRICE connected the gin brand with key consumers as well as influential bartenders and chefs to penetrate new accounts and gain market share. The sponsorship also built a robust base of supporters who endorsed the brand through a multi-platform communications strategy which resulted in high-impact media placements.
“Bombay Sapphire, which sponsored the festival last year, will be back as a presenting sponsor, promoting its new brand, Bombay Sapphire East, a gin infused with
Thai lemongrass and Vietnamese peppercorns. Bombay Sapphire, owned by Bacardi Ltd, paid a six-figure sponsorship fee to the LUCKYRICE Festival that combines funding for product and staff support, according to Giles Woodyer, Vice President and Brand Managing Director for House of Bombay and Prestige Brands. 'For us, it's about creating an experience for the guests,' Mr. Woodyer said. 'We don't just want to basically be a pour. We want people to go to an environment where they
can actually feel the brand come to life.’"
