An Introduction

It is a collaborative activity Students from different Group 4 subject groups (the “sciences”) work on a scientific or technological project

It emphasizes interdisciplinary cooperation and processes rather than the product Students may appreciate the environmental, social and ethical implications of science and technology

Students may understand the limitations of scientific study

It should address specific aims Develop and apply the students’ information and communication technology skills in the study of science

(7)

Raise awareness of the moral, ethical, social, economic and environmental implications of using science and technology (8)

Encourage an understanding of the relationships between scientific disciplines and the overarching natureof the scientific method (10)

It is done in three phases: Planning Action Evaluation

It requires ALL group members to participate

It is a time to “brainstorm” and discuss your topic

It requires that the activities to be carried out must be clearly defined before moving on to the action stage

You must have a clearly defined research question

It requires ALL group members to participate

It is time for gathering and processing data

It requires attention to safety, ethical and environmental considerations

It requires ALL group members to participate

It is time for analysis and evaluation

It is time to draw conclusions

It is time to share findings
