Element Student Ministrys number one goal is to partner with families in helping grow their
student up in a relationship with Christ. We realize that a partnership takes effort on both
sides, and we commit at Element to do our very best to provided ministry opportunities to
help students grow in a love relationship with Jesus Christ. We
try to accomplish this goal in many different ways because we
know that each individual student is in a different place in their
faith journey. We want to meet students where they are in thataith journey. We want to meet students where they are in that
journey and then help them to GROW deeper in their faith.
My hope is that you will take this guide and look through
it both students and parents) and find a ministry that you
can get involved with this year. We dont expect anyone
to participate in everything, but we DO want you to find
at least one weekly ministry to participate in and fully
comm it to being a part of. If you have any questions aboutomm it to being a part of. If you have any questions about
our ministry, let us know. We love to share about our vision
and our goals.
Thanks for letting us come beside your family on this faith
journey here at Trinity United Methodist Church. We look
forward to supporting, guiding, and challenging you to GROW
into a fully comm itted disciple

Target: Visitor, Seeker, Interested in attending
CROWD PROGRAMSare ministry opportunities that are directed toward the CROWD students.
The idea behind these programs is to encourage students to invite their friends and to interact with
others. These events are fun-filled but have a very important worship and lesson time.
Prayer Breakfast offers an opportunity for middle school and high school students to gather on
Tuesday mornings at 6:30 AM in the Youth Cafe to have a devotional and prayer time. Breakfast
costs 3, and students walk to school afterward.osts 3, and students walk to school afterward. Tuesday mornings: 6:30 AM
Sunday Night Live SNL) is a high-energy worship service that occurs monthly. The idea behind
SNL is to get as many students involved in the worship service as possible. Students host, lead worship,
make videos, perform drama, and sometimes even lead the lesson. SNL is a great night for visitors
and for students to invite their friends.
Sunday nights: 6:00 8:00 PM
Target: Non-churched, Non-believing
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS,or outreach events, are targeted at COMMUNITY students. The
goal of outreach events is to attract as many students as possible, and even involve them in the
events activities, in order to show them that Christians can have fun together. These events are also
a good way to publicize the activities and ministry areas we have at Element through brochures,
posters, etc. These events occur monthly.
REACH NightEACH Night is a Sunday night ministry that typically happens the first Sunday night of the month.
REACH nights specific function is to give our students an opportunity to invite a friend to church. REACH
nights are great entry-level events that allow students to become comfortable with the church environment.
REACH nights are fun-filled nights that end with a lesson. A few examples of REACH nights are:
Pumpkinfest, Mr. Trinity Pageant, Hootenanny, tailgate parties, and Fire & Ice night. We anticipate lots of
visitors on REACH nights. Sunday nights: 6:00 8:00 PM
Element Cafeis open to all students 6th 12th grades on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from
3:00 5:30:00 5:30 P.M. Element Cafe is a great place to relax, do homework, play in the game room, eat snacks,
and just hang out with friends. We have Wi-Fi and will soon provide computers for the students to use. This
program meets in the youth area of the church. Tuesday Thursday afternoons: 3:00 5:30 PM
Destination Funknownis a Sunday night program in which the destination is sometimes kept a secret
for the students (as well as the adult counselors). The destination is typically fun in nature where we play
and then end with a lesson. Students enjoy the suspense and excitement that comes with these nights.

CONGREG TION PROGR MS are aimed towards those students who are comfortable
at church. These CONGREGATION students range from those who are forced to attend church
to those who are ready to begin studying the Bible. Many of these students have grown up in
the church or have parents who attend the church.
Deuces
meets in the youth center on the second Sunday of each month. The night consists of
dinneinner, a game, worship, a lesson, and small group break-out sessions by grade for follow-up
questions. The adult counselors remain the same for each grade level, allowing the adults to
build bonds with the students in their group. Deuces provides a great opportunity to reach
students who are likely to respond to the lesson they just learned. Sunday nights: 6:00 8:00 PM
Sunday School
is a challenging program in youth ministry since it tends to have a reputation of
being boring. Our Sunday School ministry faces that stigma head-on in hopes to create an
environment of fun, fellowship, and growth. Sunday School classes are divided by 6th, 7th, 8th,
9th 10th, andth 10th, and 11th 12th grades. Each class is learning something different with our seven-year
cycle curriculum so students experience a well-rounded study of the Bible and theology. Each
class has discussion, games, and a time to look at Scripture. Sunday mornings: 10:00 10:45 AM
Serve Saturdays
are opportunities that are provided throughout the school year for students to
SERVE those in need. These opportunities range from tutoring to feeding the homeless. Most
of these missions will be one-time commitments on a Saturday or weekdays after school.

Target Serving others through ministry and evangelism
CORE PROGR MSare aimed toward students who are actively seeking to GROW deeper in
their faith and be leaders in the ministry. Many of the core programs are organized and led by students
with little if any direction and follow-up from adult leadership. These students must be ready to take on
new challenges and lead their peers in ministry.
The Journey
is a program designed for students who are ready to take their spiritual journey to a
deeper level.eeper level. The program is customized for each grade in each of the Biblical principles: worship
service evangelism fellowship and discipleship. Students are challenged to complete a task
associated with each principle. Students are given guidelines but are encouraged to come up with
their own task based on their talents or passions. Also The Journey challenges the students to read
a book and complete a devotional during the year. The ultimate goal of The Journey is to prepare
students to be servants for Christ once they graduate from high school and leave the support of their
parents and youth minister.
Element Leaderslement Leaders
is for students who are ready to give back to the church. Students are not nominated
or elected to the leadership team. Anyone is welcome to join. This helps eliminate popularity contests
for youth group leaders. The only rule is the student must lead.

Element Student Ministry believes that, as a staff we are called to be in
partnership with parents and vo lunteers to build up students in a loving
relationship with Jesus Christ. We realize that this partnership takes
effort from everyone. At Element, we are convinced that the more
parents & adult volunteers we have involved the more students
we can e ffectively REAC H for Jesus. So this year, we are
hoping that all paren ts will commit to volunteering in at least oneoping that all parents will comm it to volunteering in at least one
way each semester. Below are a few ways that parents can get involved.
By volunteering, you ge t to:
No experience needed Only a love for Jesus.
Whether you serve at Element Caf, drive your vehicle, pray for Element,
or mentor a group of students, you can play a role in helping your
student and others develop an au thentic faith.
It is our commitment to you that we, through the leading and empowerment
of the Ho ly Spirit, will provide relevan t ministries, opportunities for
development as a deeply committed Christian, and training for Christian
leadership for adults and students who have a desire to serve.
What a great calling we have to be a part of a team who will point
the way to Jesus Christ.
