Easy to explore

BY BUS

Québec City’s large public transportation system is reliable and pleasant to ride. Try our red open-air double decker buses too—you can hop on or off as you please to visit the major attractions on their route. In addition, several shuttles provide service from downtown to area parks and recreational centres.

BY TAXI

If you’d rather leave the driving to the locals, it’s easy to get a taxi in Québec City. Fares are affordable and it’s a safe way to get around. You can take a limo or water-taxi, or you can venture off on your own in a rental car or on a scooter, since traffic’s not a problem.

ON FOOT, BY BIKE, IN A CALÈCHE…

Our historic streets are even more interesting when explored on foot—you can linger over finds that aren’t easily discovered by car. And there are alternative ways to see the sights too: how about a horse-drawn carriage, bike path, ferry across the St. Lawrence to Lévis, hot-air balloon, helicopter, guided bike tour…or while jogging?

Our sophisticated event facility, known internationally for its ability to handle the most complex requests, recently added 73,000 sq. ft. of new meeting space.

The convention centre, which is linked by underground walkway to two four-star hotels and has some 4,000 indoor parking places, also offers free wireless Internet access—throughout the facility. Its central location just steps from Old Québec, Château Frontenac, and the Plains of Abraham means event attendees have hundreds of boutiques, restaurants, and nightclubs just a short stroll away. The facility is LEED-EB Silver-certified and hosted its 100th eco-friendly event in 2013.

Québec City boasts a slew of special spots to impress your attendees.

How about a cocktail reception at Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec or Musée de la civilisation, a presentation at Observatoire de la Capitale—with the entire city as your backdrop—or a strategy session overlooking Montmorency Falls? Maybe you’d rather sip cocktails while watching the denizens of the deep at Aquarium du Québec, hold a retro gala at the Chapelle du Musée de l’Amérique francophone, or rekindle old friendships at the Ice Hotel? For something deliciously different, consider a meal at Le Parlementaire, the very restaurant that has hosted heads of state and official receptions since 1917.

Fine diningIS THE NORM HERE

Québec City is home to a lively cultural scene.

In 2015 Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec will open its unique new building where art, architecture, and nature intersect. The city is also home to myriad exhibit spaces, art galleries, theatres, and concert halls. Each season brings its share of fun, including the Québec Winter Carnival, Festival d’été de Québec, the SAQ New France Festival, and more!

Sports fans can soak up all the action at events like the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, which draws the world’s top cyclists to town, the Snowboard Jamboree, and the Québec ITU Winter Triathlon, the world’s first ITU-sanctioned all-winter event.

Whatever the season, there’s always plenty to see and do!

Come and seeFOR YOURSELF

Get ready for non-stop natural beauty. Around Québec City, every month brings a new sort of splendour.

The ethereal beauty of the countryside in winter gives way to springtime streams, the flowing sap for our fabled maple syrup, and the snow geese who return to streak across the sky in a giant V. With summer’s warmth, leaves and flowers unfurl, gardens bloom, myriad bodies of water await exploration, and shooting stars appear as if by magic. Fall brings a feast of color, leaving our many trees aglow with shades of red, yellow, and orange. Each season has a magic of its own, yours to explore just minutes from your Québec City event.

HAS ITS OWN MAGIC

There’s nothing like a relaxing outdoor activity to bring people together to bond, and in Québec City the possibilities are endless!

Winter visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, ice skating on the refrigerated ice rink on the Plains of Abraham, or alpine skiing at one of our nearby mountains, home to many of Eastern Canada’s best slopes .

In summer, hit the links on one of our many golf courses, stroll along the river, go hot air ballooning or paragliding, mountain bike, river raft, or hike at our many parks, or cycle your way through the bucolic Portneuf and Côte-de-Beaupré countryside—and that’s just for a start!

Nature abounds, just minutes from downtown Québec City.
