MEET THE CHEF

Authentic Brazilian cuisine isn’t easy to find in Seoul, but the search is worth the effort once patrons get a taste of Chef Andee’s barbeque at Carne do Brasil in Hannam-dong.Chef Andee started his culinary career at 14 helping his mother in the kitchen. Growing up near Iguazu Falls in Brazil, Chef Andee picked up the local methods of preparing barbeque. He attended culinary school in Santa Catarine where he also acquired more technical skills to round out his repertoire. After graduation he moved on to cook at the Grand Mercury, a five star hotel in Brazil. In 2011 Chef Andee made the transpacific trip for his current position at Carne do Brasil, Korea.Most of the food served at Carne do Brasil is second nature to Chef Andee, but that doesn’t mean his job is without difficulty. The beef cuts as well as the temperature at which the beef is cooked require precision and skill. It’s these skills which hamper the spread of Brazilian barbeque cuisine and, alternately, keep Chef Andee’s menu at Carne do Brasil in demand. A: 2F, 737-2 Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu P: 02-790-1223

서울에서 찾기 힘든 정통 브라질 요리를 한남동 에있는 Carne do Brasil 에서 Chef Andee 의 바베큐를 맛 보실수 있습니다. 14살때부터 부엌에서 어머니를 도와 Chef Andee의 요리 경력을 시작했다. 브라질 Iguazu Falls 에서 자라는 동안 바베큐를 준비하는 로컬 방법을 배웠다. 그의 레퍼토리를 완성 하기 위해 더 많은 기술적인 능력을 획득 하러 Santa Catarine 요리 학교를 졸업하고 브라질의 5상급 호텔에서 요리사로 있었다. 2011년에 한국으로 횡단해 Carne do Brazil 에서 수행 했다. Angry Bear

The story of Angry Bear began when a bear cub was left on the doorstep of bassist KC Swink and guitarist Scott Prince’s apartment building in 2006. After being reared in a loving home, it eventually mauled and devoured the two.A less violent story involves the two starting off as an acoustic duo after their separate arrivals in Korea. Eventually they were joined by Patrick Connor on the drums and David Dean on the guitar. From its humble beginnings in 2006, Angry Bear has gone on to release three albums. Held in Hongdae from October 10th to the 11th, Zandari Festa will be showcasing indie bands from all over the world. Angry Bear의 이야기는 베이스 기타리스트 KC Swink 와 기타리스트 Scott Prince의 아파트 정문 앞에 버려진 아기곰으로 시작 되었다니다. 사랑으로 양욕한 집에서 담배와 소주를 마시면서 자란 아기곰은 결국 키워준 두사람을 잡아 먹었다. 덜 폭력적인 이야기는 그들이 한국에 각자 도착한 후에 2인조 어쿠스틱으로 시작 되었다. 결국 기타리스트 David Dean 와 드럼 연주자 Patrick Connor랑 합류해 2006년에 시작되서 Angry Bear는 세 앨범을 출시했다. 이 인디 밴드는 이태원에서 자주 공연을 하기 때문에 라이브 공연을 보기는 어렵지 않다. THIS MONTH YOU ARE DRINKING: THE FAT YAK The Fat Yak is an Australian pale ale brewed from premium malts, American Cascade hops, and a hint of New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops. The distinctive fruity aromas with distinguished notes of passionfruit and melon and a hit of hop at the end offer a refreshing taste that is surprisingly clean on the palate. While the brew works well on its own, pale ales traditionally pair well with spicy dishes, seafood dishes, or grilled meats.
