2013 Exhibitor Space Application Information Commercial Food & Beverage Attractions Thank you for your interest in the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair. We are always looking for exciting new products to offer our Fairgoers. The Wisconsin State Fair offers nearly a million ways to market and build your business. As you may know the Wisconsin State Fair has been providing the highest quality foods, products and fun for more than 160 years. In other words, we have quite a reputation to live up to. Our Fairgoers expect the best of the best and that’s what we deliver. By always showcasing commercial vendors and concessionaires that are examples of these very high standards we create an exceptional Fair experience each and every year Please read this entire information sheet, and complete and submit the application form to the address printed at the bottom of the application. Please be clear that this is an application to be considered for space at our Fair. Submitting the attached form does not constitute a contractual agreement between our organizations. Please do not send payment at this time. Each year 95% of the exhibiting organizations and companies return. Beginning in January, to fill the remaining 5% of open space, we begin the selection process for new Exhibitors based on the applications we have received, the criteria listed above, and the availability of space. All new applicants will be notified of our decisions after May 30 th , 2013. If you have questions about the status of your application, we ask that you please contact us after June 1 st , 2013. General Vendor Information

Rental Formulas: All exhibit space – indoor or outdoor – is leased for the entire run of the Fair (11 days) on a per front-foot basis. Additional charges will be assessed for excessive depth. Excessive depth is over 10 feet of depth for inside space and over 25 feet of depth for outside space. For Example, if you lease a 10’ x 10’ in the Expo Center, at the per front foot rate of $105, the cost for the 11 days will be $1050. 2013 Locations & Rental Rates:

Exposition Center: This is Wisconsin’s largest Exhibit Hall with over 200,000 square feet of air-conditioned exhibit space, which includes standard pipe and drape. Commercial, Organizations and Attraction vendors are welcomed. Rate is $105 per front foot and $525 per corner.

Outdoor Rental: Is for the ground as is. Rate includes a minimum of 10 feet and up to a maximum of 25 feet of depth where available. Rates are $80 per front foot on all exposed sides.

Original Cream Puff Pavilion: Home of the famous “Wisconsin State Fair Cream Puff”. Approximately 5500 square feet of air conditioned exhibit space for confections and food-related products. Rate is $85 per front foot and $425 per corner.

The Bazaar: Three islands of garages with 35 – 9.5' x 9' spaces that surround a 1500 seat Amphitheater that hosts daily entertainment. Garage doors have the ability to close – vendors must bring their own padlock. This is recommended as a commercial vendor sales area. Rate is $85 per front foot.

Mile Marketplace: Over 400 feet of open-air tented walkway located beneath the Milwaukee Mile Raceway Grandstands. Walkway runs parallel to Grandstand Avenue. This is recommended as a commercial vendor sales area. Rate is $85 per front foot and includes tenting. Booths are 10 foot in depth.

The Galleria: 400 feet of open-air tented walkway located in the Big Back Yard. This is recommended for Commercial vendors or for Organizations. Rate is $75.00 per front foot with 10’ of depth and $85.00 per front foot with 20’ of depth. Rates include tenting.

Westside Marketplace: This location offers a combination of commercial space (70 - 10' x 10' connected garages), a 50' x 50' sponsor pavilion, and the “World Café”, which consists of Ethnic Food & Beverage vendors, an entertainment stage, and an outdoor seating area. This is recommended as a commercial or organizational vendor’s area and Ethnic food vendors. Commercial Rate is $85 per front foot and $425 per corner. Food and Beverage Rates are based on Commission Rates listed below.

Novelty Rental: Outside locations, ground as is. Rate is $150 per front foot Commission Rates: Only the following types of vendors are assigned to a commission rate and will pay a non-refundable guarantee deposit. The guarantee deposit is calculated on the front footage and depth of the space by using the location per foot rental rate, unless otherwise noted. Vendors will pay their assigned commission rates (see list below) of the net sales OR the guarantee deposit, whichever is greater.

Food & Beverage 24% (All locations) Beverage Only 30% (Guarantee deposit rate is $150 per frontage foot for all locations) Attractions 25% (Non-staffed Attractions 30%)

Hours of Operation: Exhibit buildings are open to the public 9 am to 10 pm (last day of fair may vary). Outside exhibitors / concessionaires open at 9am and have option to close at 10 pm Sunday thru Thursday and at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays or remain open until the Park’s closing. Booths must remain open and manned during all hours of operation.

Sales Tax:

5.6 % (state, county and stadium construction taxes combined) Commercial Vendors 6.1 % (state, county and stadium construction taxes combined) Food and Beverage Vendors

Admission: All exhibitors and their employees must pay admission to enter the Fair Park each day. Discounted Exhibitor tickets are available prior to the Fair. Parking: Cost of parking is $10 per vehicle per day, per entrance. 11-Day Delivery Permits may be purchased for $110 and include non-reserved parking. Reserved Exhibitor Parking lots are available on a first come-first served basis. Reserved parking begins at $200 per vehicle. Delivery Permits and Reserved Parking Permits grant vendors the privilege to deliver to their areas prior to opening or after the park closes. These parking costs are in addition to gate admission. Every effort will be made to fulfill your request. A limited amount of trailer parking is also available. Insurance: All exhibitors must provide a public liability policy certificate with a minimum single limit of $1,000,000 bodily injury and property damage with the Wisconsin State Fair Park Board, its agents, and its employees named as additional insured parties prior to July 15, 2013. Electrical Connection Charges are not included in rental rates. Electrical Connection rates will be charged based on usage. Please complete the applicable electrical connection form and return with your application. Water and Sewer: $50 will be charged for the hook-up of water and sewer. For rates in the Expo Center see the Expo Utility Connection Order Form. Signs: All signage used by exhibitors must be professionally made. This includes the required company and / or organization booth identification signs. Handwritten signs, of any type, are NOT allowed. Exposition and Decorating Services: Back and side draping is provided for booths in the Exposition Center and in the Original Cream Puff Pavilion. Tables, chairs, carpeting, etc. are available for rent from State Fair Park’s contracted exposition service provider. Contests and Drawing: Contests and drawings must be unique to the 11 days of the Fair. All requests must be submitted to the Wisconsin State Fair and approved. Tent Requirements: The Exhibitor & Vendor Services Department recommends that all tents used by Vendors during the annual Wisconsin State Fair be professionally installed. Tents may be provided by vendors but must be of a higher quality than a standard pop-up tent. In both cases, all tents must have either a label affixed to it indicating the tent material is flame-resistant or paper work indicating material has been treated with a flame-retardant. Vendors must contact Digger’s Hotline before tents are installed. See Exhibitor Manual for more information. New Vendor Payment Policy: First Time vendors are required to pay 50% of the contract total within 14 days of the contract date or the contract will be cancelled. Payment can be made by money order, cashier’s check or credit card. PLEASE NOTE: This is only a partial listing of commercial exhibit space information and guidelines.
