The River Jordan once turned back
before the mantle of Elisha, after Elijah had been taken up into Heaven; and the waters were divided on this side and on that – the stream became a dry path before him, forming a true figure of the Baptism whereby we pass over the changeful course of life.
Christ has appeared in the Jordan to Sanctify the waters. (3)

O Lord, do not rebuke me in Thy Wrath,
nor chasten me in Thine Anger!
For Thine arrows pierce me deeply and
Thy Hand rests upon me.
There is no healing in my flesh because
of Thy Wrath, nor any Peace in my bones because of my sins.
For my transgressions rise up over my
head - like a heavy burden they press me down.
My wounds grow foul and fester
because of My foolishness.
I suffer misery, and I am utterly bowed
down – all day long I mourn, for my loins are filled with mockeries, and there is no healing in my flesh.
I am afflicted and great humbled; I roar
because of the groaning of my heart.
O Lord, all my desire is before Thee
and My sighing is not hidden from Thee.
My heart is troubled – my strength fails
me, and even the light of my eyes has failed me.
My friends and neighbours who draw
near stand against me, and my family stands afar off.
And those who seek my soul use
violence, and those who seek evil for me speak foolishness, and they plan deception all day long.
I, like a deaf man, do not hear – and I
am like a mute who does not open his mouth.
And I am like a man who does not hear
and who has no reproofs in his mouth.
For in Thee, O Lord, I hope - Thou will
hear, O Lord my God.
For I said: ‘Let not my enemies rejoice
over me, for when my foot slips, they boasted against me.’

do I see! Jesus comes of His own Will to the River Jordan, crying aloud to John: ‘O Friend: lend Me Thy right hand, for fearful things must I perform that I may claim My People for Mine own.’
Let the desert of Jordan blossom with
Flowers; and those who lie in darkness, leap for Joy, for a Great Light has now appeared to them. Christ, coming from Galilee, suffers Himself to be Baptised in the Flesh by a servant.
Be glad now and dance, O Jordan! Leap

I am counted among those who go down
to the Pit - I am like a helpless man, free among the dead - like slain men thrown down and sleeping in a tomb, whom Thou Remembers no more, and who are removed from Thy Hand.
They laid me in the lowest pit, in dark
places and in the Shadow of Death.
Thy Wrath rested upon me, and Thou
brought all Thy Billows over me. (PAUSE)
Thou removed my acquaintances far
from me; they made me an abomination among themselves – I was betrayed, and did not escape.
My eyes have weakened from poverty.
and I cry to Thee, O Lord - all day long I stretch out my hands to Thee.
Will Thou work Wonders for the dead?
Or will Physicians raise them up, and acknowledge Thee?

He does not deal with us according to
our sins, nor rewards us accoding to our transgressions, for according to the height of Heaven from earth, so the Lord reigns in Mercy over those who Fear Him – as far as the East is from the West, so does He remove our transgressions from us!
As a father has compassion for his
children, so does our Lord have Compassion on those who Fear Him, for He knows how He formed us – He remembers that we are clay.
As for mankind – his days are like grass
- like a flower of the field he flourishes; for the wind passes over it, and it shall not remain – and it shall no longer know its place.
Yet the Mercy of the Lord is from Ages
to Ages upon those who Fear Him.
And His Righteousness is upon
children’s children to those who keep His Covenant and remember His Commandments – to obey them.
The Lord prepared His Throne in
Heaven and His Kingdom rules over all.
Bless the Lord, all you His Angels –
Mighty in Strength – who do His Word - who heed the Voice of His Words.
Bless the Lord, all you His Hosts – His
Ministers who do His Will.

appeared on earth in the likeness of the flesh, and has destroyed the middle wall of partition and enmity. Therefore, John, seeing Thy Coming, was seized with Fear when Thou hast Commanded him to lay his hand on Thee.
Christ now comes in haste to the waters
– to crush the heads of dragons – and He cries to the trembling Baptist: ‘Stretch out Thy hand and touch My Head, and cast fear aside, fulfilling that which I command Thee.’
The Prophet once disclosed the Grace
of Baptism in the Holy Spirit, when he struck the streams of the Jordan with his mantle. Its waters now are parted once again, for Christ has appeared in them and makes a Path for us unto Divine Regeneration.

For the enemy1 persecutes my soul. He
humbled my life to the ground, he caused me to dwell in dark places like one who was long dead.
And my spirit was in anguish within me
- my heart was troubled within.
I remembered the days of old, and I
meditated on all Thy Works – I meditated on the Works of Thy Hands.
I stretch out my hands to Thee – my
soul thirsts for Thee like a waterless land. (PAUSE)
Hear me speedily, O Lord – my spirit
faints within me.
Turn not Thy Sight from me, lest I
become like those who go down into the Pit.
Cause me to hear Thy Mercy in the
morning, for I hope in Thee.
Make me know, O Lord, the Way
wherein I should walk, for to Thee I lift up my soul.
Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord,
for to Thee I flee for Refuge.
Teach me to do Thy Will, for Thou art
my God.
Thy Good Spirit shall Guide me in
Uprightness.
For Thy Name’s sake O Lord, grant me
Life.
In Thy Righteousness Thou shall bring
my soul out of affliction – and in Thy Mercy Thou shall destroy my enemies – and Thou shall utterly destroy all who afflict my soul, for I am Thy servant.
O Lord hear my Prayer; hear my
Supplication in Thy Truth - answer me in Thy Righteousness.
And do not enter into Judgement with Thy servant, for in Thy Sight no-one living is Righteous.

HIS DEMONS WHO OBSESSIVELY AND CEASELESSLY, SEEK OUR DESTRUCTION AND FAILURE IN OUR EARTHLY AND ETERNAL
ENDEAVOURS. BUT, NO MATTER HOW THEY TEMPT US INTO SPIRITUAL DEATH, THE CHOICE IS OURS TO MAKE – OBEY GOD AND REAP

Wash me thoroughly from my
lawlessness, and Cleanse me of my sin.
For I know my lawlessness, and my sin
is always before me.
Against Thee only have I sinned and
done evil in Thy Sight – that Thou may be Justified in Thy Words, and overcome when Thou art Judged.
Behold, I was conceived in
transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me.
Behold, Thou Love Truth – Thou
showed me the unknown and secret things of Thy Wisdom.
Thou shall sprinkle me with hyssop,
and I will be Cleansed.
Thou shall wash me, and I will be made
whiter than snow.
Thou shall make me hear Joy and
Gladness – my bones that were humbled shall greatly Rejoice.
Turn Thy Sight from my sins, and blot
out all my transgressions.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and
Renew a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Thy
Presence, and taken not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the Joy of Thy Salvation,
and uphold me with Thy Guiding Spirit.
I will teach transgressors Thy Ways, and
the ungodly shall return to Thee.
Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O
God, the God of my Salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Thy Righteousness.
O Lord, Thou shall open my lips, and
my mouth will declare Thy Praise, for if Thou desired Sacrifice, I would give it – Thou will not be pleased with Whole Burnt Offerings.
A Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit – a
broken and humbled heart God will not despise.
