Lord, how are they increased who trouble me!

Many are those who rise up against me.

Many say of my soul, There is no help for him in his God.

But Thou, O Lord, art my Defender; Thou art my Glory, and the Lifter-up of my head.

I called upon the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His Holy Mountain.

I lay down and slept, and rose up again; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who surround me and have set themselves against me.

Arise, O Lord, and help me, O my God!

For Thou smites all my enemies upon the cheek-bone; Thou has broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongs to the Lord; and Thy Blessing is upon Thy people.

I lay down and slept, and rose up again; for the Lord sustained me.

Thou, O our Saviour, was Baptised in Jordan and hast Sanctified the waters: accepting a servant’s hand upon Thine Head, Thou healest the passions of the world. Great is the Mystery of Thy Dispension: O Lord Who lovest

mankind, >Glory to Thee!

Praise Him with timbrel and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe.

The True Light has appeared and bestows Enlightenment on all. Christ Who is above all purity is Baptised with us; He brings Sanctification to the water and it becomes a cleansing for our souls. That which is outward and visible is earthly, that which is inwardly understood is higher than Heaven. Salvation comes through washing, and through water the Spirit: by descending into the water we ascend to God. Wonderful are Thy Works, O

Lord: >Glory to Thee!

Praise Him with tuneful cymbals; praise Him with loud cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

He Who covers the Heaven with clouds is Himself covered today by the streams of Jordan; and He Who takes away the sin of the world is cleansed, that I may be made clean. The Only Begotten Son of the Most High Father receives from Above the Testimony of the Consubstantial Spirit. Unto Him let us cry aloud: O Christ our God Who has revealed

Thyself to us and Saved us: > Glory to Thee!

I am troubled and bowed down greatly; all day long I mourn.

For my loins are filled with burning pains, and there is no heaklth in my flesh.

I am numbed and severely crushed; I groan with anguish of heart.

O Lord, all my desire is before Thee and My sighing is not hidden from Thee.

My heart throbs; my strength fails me; the very light of my eyes has failed me.

My friends and my companions stand back because of my affliction; my neighbours stand afar off.

Those who seek my life lay snares for me and they look to my misfortune, they speak of destruction, and they plan deception all day long.

But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; I am like a mute who does not open his mouth. I have become like a man who neither hears nor has a retort in his mouth.

For Thee, O Lord, I wait; Thou, O Lord my God, will answer.

When I say:, “Let them not be glad

on my account who, when my foot slips, glory over me.”

Thou hast taken away my acquaintances far from me; Thou has made me an abomination to them; I am imprisoned and I cannot escape.

Daily I call upon Thee, O Lord; to Thee I strech out my hands.

Wilt Thou work wonders for the dead?

Shalt the dead arise and praise Thee?

Shalt Thy Mercy be declared in the grave? Or Thy Truth in the place of destruction?

Shalt Thy Wonders be known in the dark? And Thy Righteousness in the Land of Oblivion?

But I, O Lord, cry to Thee; with my Morning Prayer I wait upon Thee.

Why, O Lord, dost Thou reject me? Why dost Thou hide Thy Face from me?

I am afflicted and in agony since my youth; I am distraught with the burden of Thy Fear2.

Whom the Voice of the Father bore witness.

Let us, the Faithful, keep ourselves safe through Grace and through the Seal of Baptism. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor does He punish us according to our crimes.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so exceeding is His Mercy towards those who Fear Him; as far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us!

As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has Compassion for those who Fear4 Him. For He knows how we were formed; He remembers that we are sand.

Man’s days are like those of the grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes; the wind sweeps over him and he is gone, and the place remembers him no longer.

But the Mercy of the Lord is from Eternity to Eternity for those who fear Him; and His Righteousness towards children’s children of those who keep His Covenant, and remember to fulfil His Commandments.

STRIVE TO OBEY HIS EVERY COMMANDMENT AND TEACHING. WE MUST FEAR OUR OWN SINFUL ERRORS THAT ALIENATE

US FROM GOD FOR WE AND EVERY OTHER HUMAN BEING SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR OWN ACTIONS – AND WILL

BE HELD PERSONALLY ACCOUNTABLE ON THE GREAT DAY OF THE FINAL JUDGEMENT!

sintetrimmenon. Kardian sintetrimmenin ke tetapinomenin O Theos ouk

For behold Thou hast loved Truth:5 the uncertain and hidden things of Thy Wisdom Thou hast made manifest to me.

Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed:

Thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

To my hearing Thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice.

Turn away Thy Face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from Thy Face; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of Thy Salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit.

I will teach the unjust Thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to Thee.

Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, Thou God of my Salvation:

And my tongue shall extol Thy Justice.

O Lord, Thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare Thy praise.

For if Thou had desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings Thou wilt not be delighted.

A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God Thou wilt not despise.
